Yesterday had a really good day in terms of Old StyleInvited over to my friend's house to experiment with the sausage maker we'd gone halves on - what a scream! Too much innuendo (boys around
) set me off laughing and then getting the *feel* for the machine speed etc., was another matter entirely and we ended up several different sized offerings :rotfl:
She has talked the boys into incubating some quail eggs over the summer - Lord help me! - and then we went to the back of the garden to teach them how to shoot. They were really rather good at it and only missed their target once or twice. Didn't do too badly myself, even though it's years since I've been shooting and my eyes aren't quite as sharp as they used to be.
Supper last night was ... hm pork and rabbit sausage, fresh laid egg (her chooks, not Silky), HM bread and with grilled tomatoes   The sausages were really, really tasty!
Looking forward to experimenting with different 'sausage' ideas over time
Cleaned out the chicken after supper, quick n easy, using shredded paper for the nesting area; any and all soiled parts got put in the compost bin.
Speaking of which, I can hear some chook-noises so I'm guessing she's laying ... need to go check
Catch up with you all later,~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Morning Snowy, apple, DaisyKate, Queenie and everyone. PP are we cross posting? Morning Hun
Well, I had one of my daft old bat weekends so no doubt today will be spent picking up the pieces. Not least of which is trying to find homes for the dozen or more plants I couldn't resist yesterday! my 6ft x 6ft balcony already contains 1 x fully grown Bird of Paradise (Very big!), 2 yuccas, 1 fully grown foxtail fern, a mature "something or other climber the name of which escapes me just now" and 5 or, 6 clematis. I have to stop!
Off to have brekkie, catch you all later
xxxMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
Proud to be a chic shopper

pssst Queenie, Good Morning from Florida, well actually its 1.49 am and I am just up for an asprin
But the sausage maker sounded such fun I had to comment as the breakfast here at our hotel is self serve which includes making your own waffles and daughter wants to bring home a waffle maker now
I have told her its just a holiday thing and would end up in the that pile of kitchen items never used once the novelty has worn off :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone, when we get up we are off to Seaworld for the day. Yesterday it was Mother's Day in US so I got two special days this year and two shots of looking for cheap Mother's Day gifts a day later :rotfl:0 -
Good Morning All
So far everyone sounds happy this morning which has cheered me up as have got a stinking cold and the weather looks horrible.
Need to tidy house as someone coming to value it (for remtg not moving) and some important paperwork and all I really feel like doing is going back to bed with a pack of tissues so think will take some Daynurse (not os I know) and keep popping back on here to keep me motivated.
Snowyowl - I know you say nothing exciting happening but sometimes thats good - enjoy your day.
Apple_mint - sounds like youre really organised - it does make you feel really good doesnt it.
Daisykate - envy you Ive not been to Cornwall ever and would love to go.
Queenie - Hope you found an egg. We had chickens when I was younger and didnt appreciate them then. Cant have then now but never mind.0 -
