Busy today as usual.
First BM was put on ,then WM needed a good hot cycle run on empty as it was getting a bit sluggish draining ,which usually means the pipes are claggy. Then shopping to Asda.
Earthed up the potatoes, made lunch ham/cheese/lettuce sandwiches
Then as it looked like rain,we made a nice big bonfire and got rid of all the branches etc that have accumulated over the last 6 months.
Weeded the area where the heap of branches had been as the brambles hide underneath.
Tea is chicken and roast taties etc.
Ive found quite a good pattern for making my shorts(fabric bought yesterday) so thats likely to be a project over the next week or so,hopefully I've bought enough fabric for 3 pairs.
Theres another net pending on the knitting machine for covering the french beans with(keeps the birds off).
DD's 16th on Saturday next so I've got to have a hunt for a keyboard music book,OH has bought her a big electronic keyboard as the Piano is never in tune and she wanted one she could have in her bedroom.0 -
Afternoon all,
Just a quickie whilst I am cooking the supper in the Aga......yes Aga!!! roast chicken, spuds for OH, asparagus, carrots, cauli and calebrese stewed rhubarb with cream for pud. Cannot have crumble, not allowed on my low carb diet but cream is!!!!
Not a nice day here in Rutland, we went to a local nursery to get some veg plants for the allotment. Cabbage, leeks, little Gem lettuce, Courgette ( for the back garden) and I also picked up a wild honeysuckle, we have a patch at the back of our garage where we want to cover the wall and some trellis (stop the nosey neighbours looking onto our patio) its growing storngly and should flower later in the summer.
Very late getting up this morning, 9am before we woke so almost 10am by the time we got down stairs, the Church bell woke us otherwise I think we would have slept on longer.

Good evening everyone,
Well, one very proud mum here, DS's team won their tournement!!!!!! Not only that, but DS was picked as the man of the tournement!!!! It has been a lovely day, lovely people to talk too and the kids all enjoyed themselves. They only let in one goal the whole day (in the final) and DS scored the equaliser, (it went to extra time and then penalties in the final). We are all very tierd now, and my throat feels like sandpaper, ive been shouting and cheering so much!!!! They have another tournement to play in next Saturday, so we will be going through it all again!!!!
Right, off for a bath now and to put the BM on for bread for tomorrows lunches!!!!
Have a lovely evening everyone,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Well done Mini Catowen :j
Frugal pie - Great result at the boot fair :T
Well my DH has left and won't be back until Thursday - the longest time we've been apart since we lived togetherWe met in a chat room 6 years ago and it's strange to think that we regularly used to spend the week apart and only get together at weekends.....amazing how much you get used to someone being around.
Anyway - house is tidy, washings on airers and everythings ready for packed lunches tomorrow - DD's are just out the bath and I'm about to start hair drying and bedtime. Then it's a rum and coke and a long soak up to my neck in bubbles with a book.
Have a lovely evening all."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

It's definately worth doing...Dh and I were saying that about 2 years ago we would have thrown stuff away...or just given it away...
There are some massive ones near me..but that's in northamptonshire...am sure there are similar ones all round the country...
Good Luck if you do decide to do it...we had a ball...even tho we got soggy and it is true, one mans trash is another man's treasure!

My team won! Hurrah! It now means that they're through to the final at Twickenham............. on the same day as my hen party. Oh well, I knew that we'd run that risk but nevermind! OH will be taking his usher, my bridesmaid's husband and OH's dad. It should be quite a jolly day.
In the meantime, I've got to get myself ready for school tomorrow. :rolleyes:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

Morning everyone :hello:
It's Monday again already...big sigh, where did the weekend go?
Just having my brekkie - a big bowl of porridge - but that's hardly headline news. It's going to be a case of go to w*** then go home today, absolutely nothing out of the ordinary.
Elona - hope things with your dad are progessing OK. It's a tough time for all of you.
Moggins - how are you doing these days? I don't think I saw you around all weekend. Hope things are OK.
MushyPeas - what about you? OK, I know you're currently 1 armed thanks to your RSI op (you were so brave BTW!). Have you decided to proceed with your house?
JW - and you? You alright? I think you are after your trip to the supermarket...you noticed three tasty specimens...this is wonderful news, you are already moving on and having a look at the many other fish in the sea.
That's it on this drizzly Monday morning. Not exactly my most sparkling newsy post, but no news is good news.
Bye.
