Longwell green is my old stomping ground. Moved out just over a year ago.
I use to go but use to come back having just bought an ice cream

Yes folks, I am finally part of 21st century lifeHousemate signed up to Tiscali, and I got it installed and sorted out today (am more computer literate than housemate
)
Oh yes - remember how I said that my day was going to involve de-junking my room, watching the snooker and going for a walk in the park?
Well I haven't yet done any of the above
Instead, day went like this (and very pleasant it was too): Housemate had trouble with installing the Tiscali driver software on his elderly computer. I installed it on mine instead. Off we both went then to PC World to obtain a wireless router, plus a network adapter for HM's PC. Spent £7.50 in a charity shop on 3 tops (1 George, 1 Next, 1 Oasis) and £3 on two nice gift-type candles. Had lunch at a local Harvester-type restaurant (paid for by HM to say thanks for sorting it all out) Came home and configured the router. Found it worked fine with my network card
. Had some trouble installing HM's network adapter but it seems to be sorted out now
PP - Wednesday afternoon will be great and you will be among the first to see my new haircut which I am having done on Wednesday morningPM me your address, and I'll come over about 3pm if that suits you - seems like a good time of day for a cuppa

Sorry to hear about your Grandad, VickyA. My Nan's funeral is tomorrow.
I was outranged at the price of flowers for funerals. This costs £26 so I brought 2 buches of flowers from Morrisons and made my own bouquet for £5 using cellophane left over from Christmas. My Nan will be proud. She hated fancy stuff
Hope everyone body had a nice BH weekend! Hello to the Newbs! xxx0 -
sorry to hear about losing your grandad vicky and you your nan kat, a sad time for you both
i got a wreath made at asda some time ago and it was very well done and about half the price of a florist0 -
Huge huggles to Vicky and Kat, I do envy you having them so long though, all of my grandparents were gone by the time I hit 14. I never appreciated them enough then and often wish they were around now, especially my Auntie Flo who was Superwoman in my eyes when I was small.
Thanks to the lazy beerdrinking monsters who are my DH and XDH all that has been moved in the garden is the picnic bench which I will still have to move tomorrow as they have put it in the wrong place. XDH and his OH are coming round tomorrow with the trailer to take all the garden refuse down the tip for me.
DH has retired to bed with a bad stomach so I have to go and iron the uniforms instead now, trust my luck!DS is loading the dishwasher for me. No peace for the wicked eh?

Bargain_Rzl wrote:VickyA - so sorry to hear your news :grouphug: (however if your grandpa was as much of a chatterbox as he sounds, he's probably now entertaining an audience elsewhere!) He's so lucky to have had all his faculties right to the end - sounds like a pleasant enough way to go, especially for those who had to be there at the end.
We reckon he's still at the pearly gates talking to St Peter.They'll be trying to usher him in, but not quite being able to get a word in edgeways!
