I love this thread
Because even when I sleep until 10:00am, the thought of having to relate my domestic achievements on here motivates me enough to actually DO something with my Saturday morning!
So far:
First WM load finished. Debating hanging it out but I think it's going to rain
Been to Tesco. Spent a (budgeted) fortune, cos I bought that champagne I'd hoped to order online but none of the high-value discount codes would work
Been to Woolworths. Bought a bun tin.
Set off new BM on it's first cycle since its relocation from the House of Mouse. Hope to get an edible basic wholemeal loaf out of it in a couple of hours.
Still to do:
Strip bedclothes and put in WM
Run through the music I've printed out for a choir concert tomorrow pm.
Bake a batch of blueberry muffins (well, buns) using yesterday's reduced blueberries, to take as contribution to buffet tea prior to tomorrow's choir concert.
Possibly also bake a batch of golden oat cookies as per recipe index - couldn't find rolled oats in Tesco but have a big bag of valaue porridge oats - would they work?
Update my accounts and bill various friends for money owed
Re-file all my financial paperwork
And more I suppose. Ho hum, this time last week I was at Blackpool Pleasure Beach with TM and Nels...
Hope everybody's well

Hi all! Haven't managed to post for a few days but read every day except thursday, when we went to Dover to see In-laws:eek: Thankfully MIL is now a lot less scary than she was when she was my age.
bargain Rzl Hope the bread comes out OK! BTW rolled oats are the sort like Ready Brek, but I'm sure ordinary ones should be really nice - just the texture will be different. Not sure if you might need to bake them for a little bit longer, but I'm sure someone else on the thread will.:p
Elona So sorry about your Dad hon, been thinking of you.
P-P congrats on doing your TMA, I just don't know how you manage it! I'm sure I couldn't!
Jo I agree with everyone else, i think you will be happier without boyf. Enjoy being footloose and fancy-free!
JackieO I hope the shopping expedition went okay and that your DGD found some clothes she was willing to be seen in!:p
Mushypeas (((((HUGS))))) been thinking of you too.
Racy Red Loved your story about what happened at the Sorting Office!:rotfl:
I know I've missed a lot of people out, but send hugs to everyone who needs them!
My DGS (12yo) had an accident on his bike last Sat - the road was slippery and the wheel went out from under him, causing the bike to spin and throwing him off - his poor face hit a concrete post.
As he was still in a lot of pain on the Tuesday his Dad took him to the doctor, who sent him for an x-ray in case he'd broken his cheekbone. I rang later to see how he'd got on, and he said sadly, "Hello, Nanny. Unfortunately (Oh dear, I thought) I HAVEN'T got a broken cheek." Apparently he was quite excited by the prospect as it would have meant a few more days off school.......!
best wishes

Hello all
Well, today started off nicely - with a sample of hand & body lotion (which seems quite nice) to try, plus a sample of extra strong hair gel (which is awful - but then I'm a proponent of "natural" hair styling and this is way too stiff). I suspect DS will find a use for some of it.
I also received an appointment from the hospital for an abdominal scan.Wasn't expecting it - have no idea why I've got it! I shall have to ring the GP on Monday and enquire as to whether they fixed it up - and if so, why! The other weird thing is that its at 6.45 PM.
The poor old Radiographers must be working all the hours God sends, for some reason.
Since then I've made a lamb casserole for dinner tonight, plus a fruit jelly for pud. I've made good use of my new spray bottle with its diluted Stardrops - which was fantastic in the bathroom and wonderful for those ad hoc "I really must clean that up" moments (such as the lid of the birdseed containers).
DH took DS to get his hair cut, so he looks like a little boy again, instead of a dwarf surf dude. :rotfl: We've been out and stocked up on pet food, having a good ogle at the baby Rays in the fish section. I love their little faces, they're so cute.
DS is currently having a conniption about the footie being on the t.v. - maybe I'll sidetrack him by getting him to vac the downstairs. He might fall for it!
Hugs to all that need them - I'm off to get tomorrow's sausages out of the freezer before I forget!:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
First attempt in BM is half an hour away from being done, and smells yummy.
I had 17 items on the to do list I made yesterday evening and have so far ticked off 7 items :j :j :j (well, really 6 items and two halves, IYKWIM)
Am in a baking sort of mood and will be off shortly to make blueberry muffins
It still looks like it might rain, but so far the washing's been OK on the line. A garden with a washing line is one of the few things I'm really going to miss when I move into a teeny weeny flat of my own.
Back later

hello all
bit chilly here today glad i dont have any plants out yet
came home early yesterday with a bug thats going about, even with the central heating electric fire and a hot water bottle i was still frozen, thank goodness i am on the mend today, it must be awful to feel ill all the time
just had a quick scan through all the posts, a big hug to all those coping with upsets or illness
why is it when your ill you never have what you fancy in the house
dinner - baked potato and mayo0 -
Afternoon all :hello:
jw - flirt away! Enjoy yourself - you deserve it!
PP - forgot to ask yesterday, but I hope that DD's SATS went ok. It sounds like she's pretty bright, with some incredibly supportive parents.
I've just got back from bridemaid dress fittings. It was so quick that I thought there must be something wrong. We were only there for 20 mins. They are so professional in the shop that it's a pleasure to deal with them. The contrast was noticable when I first went trying wedding dresses on - their service was immeasurably better than the other wedding dress shops in the area.
My mum came with us, as she wants to be part of the process along the way..... However, it means that we have coffee and lunch paid for - bless her!
I sent OH to the farmers' market this morning. He only came back with some minced beef (spag bol tonight, I think) as the local school came out of lessons as he walked down and the town was flooded with children! (It's a public boarding school, so they have lessons on a Saturday) I will make sure that the next farmers' market I make the effort to go early myself!
OH is now watching the FA cup final. We're normally rugby followers (match tomorrow), but OH seems to turn into a football pundit around the time of FA cup finals, Euro tournaments and World Cups. :rolleyes:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

Gogga - your week was worse!
I'm not relaxing even a little bit until I get a contract in my hand though! My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.
