Erm, what is? A football match of some "importance" I guess ?
Today has not been overly successful .... managed to get the laminator for my ma and a birthday card. Bought some asparagus and eggs from the farm shop - but failed dismally at the butchers
By the time I got there (13:30) they were shut. Ho hum, looks like I'll have to try again earlier next week.
DH and DD are on wind down duty, so I must go and tape Dr Who and put the heating on, it's perishing here. What happened to the Summer, was it just 2 days this yearIf I promise to take my sandals back to the shop, will the weather improve?

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
** PP screams and runs around in circles **
~shudder~ I've just come to the conclusion that I'm not cut out for composting. LOLOL ~goosebumps~
I've just been down to Worm City (our composting bin) to deliver today's ration of peelings, tea bags, grapefruit skins etc. ~shudder~
As I reported previously, the bin wasn't really working - everything inside seemed to have turned to sludge. So I left it for the remainder of the winter/spring and only investigated again a couple of days ago. The contents had started to behave itself and there was some good composting going on in there, so I slapped the lid back on and since then have added the Guinea Pig muck and a couple of instalments of peelings.
As you may also remember, worms, maggots and slugs freak me out BIG TIME - so each trip to Worm City is a bit of an ordeal, but I do it for the greater good. (Can you see my halo? :A ).
This time .... .... as I lifted the lid (which seemed oddly tight, like as though there was some sort of airlock going on), great bucketloads (and I'm not exaggerating here) of worms dropped out of the inside of the lid onto the ground at my feet. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! *squeal*squeak*yelp*
For a second, I didn't know what to do, as dropping the lid might have made the situation worse - so holding it at arm's length, I chucked in today's peelings and as more worms cascaded from the lid, dropped it onto the ground and ran for it! ** SNORT ** ~shudder~
I now feel as though I should be washing my eyes out with soap and water. I also feel as though things are creeping up my trouser legs. LOL The worst of it is, I've got to go back and put the lid back on!!! Its the stuff nightmares are made of - I'd best not eat any cheese before bedtime for a while ..... *meep*!!:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -

Autopsy is over. As is the montage of the "best bits to a current piece of music". Yawn.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

PoshPaws - you have my deepest sympathy. When I was 4 I used to pick them up and play with them. Now, 23 year later, I feel sick at the sight of the little b*ggers.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0

Hello all
It's been a wonderful day here - rained first thing but brightened up by the time we went out at lunch time (had a lovely long lie in with breakfast in bed) It was 23 degrees according to the car thermometer.
Went for a mooch around some shops - got some lovely glasses in M&S - reduced to 50p each.
DH has made a chicken curry for tea - it's in the SC smelling lovely. Just bagged up the last of the winter clothes and they've gone in the loft.....summer will happen - think positive!
DH is away all next week, leaving tomorrow afternoon so will spend the morning doing something all together and finish packing his bits.
Hope you've all had a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I know they're supposed to be in there, Twink - and I was expecting them - but not quite in SUCH numbers, or dropping out in great writhing red clumps at my feet!! I still haven't plucked up courage to go out onto the patio, never mind down to Worm City to put the lid back on.
Edited to say that I've just been into the kitchen to have a peep out of the back door and there ... ON THE KITCHEN TABLE ... is a worm. How the Dickens did that get there???? It must have been on the container that I brought back into the kitchen and then rinsed out under the tap ... which means that perhaps those creeping sensations that I keep feeling going up my trouser legs .... ... ~ PP leaps in the air and strips her trousers off at high speed~ ...:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0
