Thanks everybody- just got back from hospital. He is in a side ward as he has dia******a and they think he might be infectious.

Got Napisan on the way home so that I can soak the two bags of washing overnight before I wash them in the morning and get them back to him the same day.

We left the house about six - traffic was bad so by the time we parked, paid ticket and walked to the ward it was ten to seven.
He was not amused when all four of us had to leave at twenty to eight - instructing us that tomorrow we should arrive at six and stay till eight. Never mind my 12 year old wont get home till nearly 9p.m. and my 17 year old should be revising and I am so tired I could cry!

Managed to keep my mouth shut! He just does not realise that for us to be there for an hour takes us nearly three hours a day and that nearly every day I have been buying him pyjamas or slippers and doing the washing for him.

Fervently hope that if I get a good night's sleep I will feel better able to cope and be less of a misery.

Way to go JW - nice to hear you sticking up for yourself and realising that boyfriends who want to "play music" "paint" "write a great novel" etc - have a day job and support themselves. Well done!

and he wasn't even much good at doing the blokey bits like fix the car etc.

It will feel a bit strange at first, but the cat will be great company, and i think you will notice you are less stressed and enjoy being at home evn more. You won't be spending all your free time tidying up/cooking and sorting him out.

You deserve a good one jo. It's all too easy to settle for less, so i'm pleased you have made a decision that is best for you, and you are secure in the knowledge that you can afford to live to the same standard by yourself.

Will be thinking of you and hoping that you don't lose any of your precious time off work to sorting things out.

    Michelle xx

Elona sorry you have had a rough evening. hospitals bring out the worst in people. It is such a lot of extra work for you, and you are trying your best to be positive. Try and have a lie in if possible in the morning, and don't feel too guilty about how you are feeling. If the kids can't go with you, that will have to be. It's not like your 17yo doesn't want to be there, but i'm sure she will be distracted enough as it is. Revision is hard at the best of times.
Wishing you a bit better day tomorrow, or at least enough energy to cope with it all.

    awww thanks racy :)

elona, I wish I could think of something more helpful to say, but keep your chin up, it sounds like you're doing a brilliant job supporting both your dad and your girls. Just remember to look after yourself as well.

Jo, easy for me to say, but try to see this as the first day of the rest of your life...we've all seen how miserable youv'e been over the last few months, so hopefully things will get better soon.

I love the post office tale, this isn't quite as bad, but I was serving a customer yesterday and he pulled the money out of his pocket that he wanted to pay in and with it, out fell a condom! I don't know who was more embarrassed, him or me, but at least it's good to know that he's prepared! :rotfl:
