Went out to buy dad yet another pair of new slippers as he does not like the ones I got two days ago, I bought the size he said he was and open heeled as he said he wanted- so back to the drawing board.
Got another pair of slippers a size bigger and lined with sheepskin so they will be soft on his feet. Also bought him the fifth pair of pyjamas in ten days as he is now going through three pairs a day!
Got home just in time to make egg fried rice for family as a treat and spend an hour on here before going to hospital to visit.
He will not be happy he is staying in for chemo- but he fell in the hospital before having chemo and I dread to think of him alone in his flat if he falls.
He also informed me happily that he has asked for the alarm system to be removed - that was the whole point of his being in that flat - so he could get help if needed!!!
Sorry to go on but I just feel so tired and useless! Whatever I do or bring I will be told it is wrong or not to bother.
Someone kick me up the b*m and tell me to snap out of it, please!
JW Sorry about the break up - in that it is never fun - but agree with other posters that BF seemed to be causing you stress rather than solving it! Big Hug."This site is addictive!"

Where's the sun gone!?!?
I knew I shouldn't have bought any Summer clothes yesterday, so I apologise now!
OS wise has been pretty low today as working, couple of loads washed and dried on line.
Fresh asparagus eaten for lunch on lawn with DH, most scrumptious. I picked it up from the farm yesterday when it was picked! Must go and get some more. Spoke to MIL last night who when she realised it was asparagus season promptly invited herself for 2 w/e's out of 4. Sigh. Bang goes my Bank Holiday w.e.
B - 3 choccie biscuits, 2 cups of coffee
L - Asparagus and hollandaise sauce
D - HM Fajitas which DH is preparing as we speak!
Tonight is going to be either doing the finances or doing the hems on some curtains. I think it should be the latter - they've been waiting to be done for a year, oops. Oh and I want to plant my herb garden if it doesn't get too cold.GC - March 2024 -0 -

Nope, will not give you a kick up the bum, will give you a virtual ((hug)) instead. He is grouchy because he is not feeling well, you are tired because you are running ragged around.
I remember last yr when DH's grandmother was in hospital with cancer, she too was the same, it was mainly because complaining was the only thing she could do - the time to start worrying is when he stops complaining!GC - March 2024 -0 -
elona - you're doing so much for your dad. They just don't seem to appreciate what you're going through. ((((elona))))
jw - Everything happens for the best and it has always sounded that you're doing everything in your relationship and he's just lapped up your generosity. Make the most of being single!
jockettuk - if you read this, you must be (and DD) delighted that the SATS are out of the way! I hope that the shopping trip goes well
Work wasn't too bad today as all we did was the children did their last Maths paper and the rest of the day was dedicated to playing rounders and dodgeball with the other Year 6s. They had a great time, so on Monday it'll be back to normal lessons.
The second load of washing (towels) is on the line now. I need to get it out of the way before my friend turns up. We've got a bridesmaid dress trying on time tomorrow morning. It's their final fitting, so I'm hoping that they are now able to walk in their shoes.Or at least stand up............ Anyway, one of my bridesmaids is getting the train up from London tonight so I'm picking her up and hopefully OH will have prepared a supper of veggie lasagne. Other bridesmaid is driving from Suffolk tomorrow morning...... and my mum is meeting us there so hopefully she'll buy us lunch
Anyway, I'd better go and get the house sorted.
Vicky

Hello again
shez - my DS2 (4 next week) is a demon on the PC - if I'm msn'ing anyone he barges me out of the way and is fab at sending smilies (he knows how to spell most of them !!) and he likes practising his normal spelling too - hopefully it will help him when he starts school in September.
I've been quite productive today. I've taken a knife to the grass and cut out all the dandelions (hundreds of the blighters), then mown, scarified and fed them. I've done 2 loads of washing, made a hundinger of an Indian meal for tea, vac'd throughout (including putting attachments on and doing the corners, ceiling, light fittings etc) Cleaned both loos and bathroom and done the normal round of school runs.
After the boys are asleep I'm going to have some 'me' time. I am going to pamper myself - hair treatment, face pack, manicure and pedicure, maybe even a soak in the bath (hot shower at least), have a glass of something and watch something on tv. I may even do some more crochet - it's coming on quite well, even if I say so myself
Actually - the boys are playing really well outside at the moment - so I'll just leave them for a while. Neither are going to sleep until after 8pm so may as well get them really tired so they will sleep straight away. I don't know what they are doing - last time I looked they were watering.... my car !! LOL. At least they aren't fightingI think they are playing hide and seek....
Ok - off for a mooch around the board for a while.
Hope you all have a good evening and Jo - if you want a chat - there are a lot of us on msn - give us a shout, hun.

Evening all.
Had another rubbish day at work - stuck on the counter all day again, and wanted to go out in the sun all day too, which probably didn't help!
Oh, well, my OH is off out tonight so bought myself a bottle of Lambrusco (cheap, me?!) and have found a recipe for a vegetarian club sandwich, so am going to eat and drink and watch a nice film to make myself feel better!
Hugs to all that need them.0 -
Well I'm well cheered up now! Haven't been able to stop laughing for the last hour or more and have a feeling this might continue for the weekend
Had quite a good OS day. Got some hand washing done, attacked the windows and appear to have won (it will rain in a minute... I kid you not) and peeped inside my airing cupboard - well, it's a start! Have to go start the pasta for supper soon.
Did a little shop and decided to pick up a registered parcel that was waiting for me at the local sorting office. Wasn't sure what it could be as there are a few potential gifts for friends due for delivery, thanks to the grabbit, freeby and magazine subs threads, but I wasn't expecting anything registered.
The collection office was quite crowded when I got there so I was a bit "get on with it" ish when it was finally my turn. I was handed a jiffy bag that would have easily gone through the letter box if it hadn't had to be signed for. I was slightly miffed as I had been waiting for a while and had gotten hot grumpy, and irritable so decided to check that the contents of the envelope were ok before leaving. Ripped open envelope, thrust in hand and pulled out a.... well, shall we call it a massage aid? A mustard yellow massage aid in a cellophane fronted box
Silence... pin drop... then roars of laughter from the bloke behind the counter and chuckles and guffaws from those who saw before I hastily stuffed it back into the envelope and ran
In my defense I shall admit to having had far to much wine on the evening it was ordered, having been spotted on grabbit. It cost a total of £1 to cover postage and the actual postage cost was £1.17! so... bargain! Now then, which of my friends gets that for her birthday, and how the hell do I face the sorting office again?
Anyone seen a grabbit for a wig/sunglasses disguise?
I'll tell you some tales of the reprobate Dad on a day when I'm sure he is not lurking on here somewhere ShezMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
Proud to be a chic shopper
