Morning everyone
!!**Happy Birthday MSE Martin**!!
There will be lots of celebrations in MoneySaving Towers today as it's Martin's birthday. Have a lovely day Martin.
My eyelids sprang open at 4.30 am and they absolutely refuse to close again, so what better distraction is there than to open today's thread.
It's still a bit early for anything to have happened in my ickle world, so I'll skip telling you my news, or rather lack of.
Elona, I'm really shocked to hear your dad's diagnosis, so cannot imagine how you and yours must be feeling. I'm sending you and him lots of good wishes and positive vibes that he gets stronger quickly so that his treatment can begin.
MushyPeas - hope yesterday wasn't too bad at work and that you're bearing up.
Moggins - how's it going now that you're an ex-smoker? If you're getting cravings try taking long and very slow deep breaths in and out and imagine all that lovely clear oxygen going around your system. As mentioned yesterday the cravings don't last all that long - they can be tough but don't give in, you are the master of your destiny!!
Well, that's all from me for this morning everyone. Have a fantastic Triesday!

Happy Birthday MSE Martin! :bdaycake:
'Morning Snowyowl, 'morning everyone :hello:
Like you Snowyowl, I woke with the birds and couldn't get back to sleep. I've made some couscous to put into the packed lunches and I've now settled down to MSE with a nice cup of tea.
OH and I have joined a gym (cheap subscription of course - gym is at OH's place of work) and we are going along tonight. So it's batch made bolognese from the freezer for tonight's meal. Just pop some spagetti on and heat up the bolognese sauce.
I'm taking HM made veg soup for lunch. Along with some chopped salad and couscous.
Rest of the day is taken up with w**K.
Have a lovely OS day everyone!

Hi there Apple Mint! Gosh, you're so productive for this time of day! I can honestly say, hand on heart, that in all the occasions I have woken at 4.30 am I have never done anything even remotely useful!!
Actually, I just wanted to congratulate you on your weight loss - I noticed it yesterday in your signature. Well done!!

Once I wake up SnowOwl, my brain starts ticking over about work. So I'll do anything to try and take my mind off the subject! Pottering in the kitchen is much more preferable to writing reports in my head!
Thank you - I feel so much better for losing some weight. OH has been fantastic in his support and is losing weight with me. He writes everything down that we have eaten and has joined the gym with me. This weekend he even made some batch meals and pointed them up for me. I think this 'buddy' approach has really made a difference. The weight loss has slowed down now - but I'm keeping on goingI haven't bought a single WW product - we cook from scratch, pointing up the meals as we go along.

Hi
I haven't posted on the daily thing here before, although I won't be an everyday poster, I'd like to post now and again what I'm trying to do OS.
Last night made potato wedges. Garlic and jalfrezi curry powder with bread crumbs flavour, thanks to someone on here for the wedges idea. Flavour was my own, very nice, although I do smell a bit todayA nice big salad with that, not anything from the garden in it yet.
Today, working on my Mums house, so lunch will be on her, can't get cheaper than that. Tonight, eggy bread from own chooks, OH off for a long job interview today so no HM bread though.
Sowed 50 sweetcorn yesterday, prodded at the tomato seeds, but nothing yet.
Aims today are: still no smoking, not to buy anything. Hope to get the freecycle tools I'm after.
Hope you all have a good day.“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0 -
Morning Applemint and Snowy owl.
Elona - I am so sorry about your dad hun
Happy birthday - Martin
Applemint - enjoy the gym and forget the reports for a while. Its great you have someone that will motivate you. I badly need to diet. I am in a job that I am finding really stressful and I am doing a daft amount of comfort eating just now. I was very good at going swimming 2 or 3 times a week, but local pool is closed just now for about ten weeks.
PP - I hope you begin to feel a little better. Its seems you have had a rough time for a while. Good luck to your daughter with her stats.
I have a nicer day today as have to go north for a work meeting. It is a beautiful drive and ideal for listening to classic fm and looking at some of Scotland's most lovely scenery. Can't wait! Going to take a chicken salad sandwich and find somewhere with a good view to pull up for lunch.
I going to see another school after work that are advertising for teachers. I have only been in current job since December, but have changed from loving my previous job to dreading this one. So I am starting to apply for others.0 -
Morning everyone
At work today so not much else happening.
We are off at the weekend for another cheap caravan deal. Its hubby's 30th birthday on Saturday and he was given the option of a party, out for a meal or away for the weekend. He opted for the latter. So tonight I will get clothes etc ready for it and work out what else needs doing.
Probably do a quick hoover or tidy up unless someone else does it before me
Must go - still have lunch to make for work. Cheese and tomato relish on tomato rolls - yummmm.
Take care for now0 -
Hello Beer2006!:hello:
Glad you could join us today. It sounds like you're already a long way down the OS path - you even have chickens!
Good luck with the non-smoking thing - life as an ex-smoker is much better I have discovered. Congrats on 1000 posts too.
SnowyOwl
PS - OK I'm going to stop hogging the thread now - that's 3 posts already!0 -

Morning everyone,
Still got DD off pre-school, she currently on the settee nose & eyes stopped runing but she is now barking like a dog with a bad cough..
Supposed to be at the dentist later and then DDs speech therapist is calling this aft so that may have to be cancellled. As well as the usual visit from MIL tonight my friend & her DD whom I haven't seen for ages are visiting, looking forward to this. Would like to cancel MIL but even if I did she would still turn upbecause thats what shes like...
Moggins: Hope it wasn't too stressful for you yesturday with no fags.
Not much O/S cleaning needs doing as bottomed the house yesturday and still only use 1/4 bottle of stardrops, blumming good stuff, got the front of my old fridge looking like new.
Anyway have a lovely day all, take care

Snowyowl and Icemaiden thanks for the welcome
I've been OS since I was about 12, just didn't know what it was called before I started visiting the site
Life without smoking will hopefully get better, hope so anyway, determined not to start again, not really even allowing myself to think about having one.
Didn't get the freecycle tools.........never mind, prodded tomato seeds again, nothing in the last half hour............
