TM the thought of your boys making the house a mess is showing me exactly what i've got to come. It might be a few years off yet, but i think i would be a lot less calm and forgiving than you seem to be. I'd be ready for wringing a little neck or two. Kids will be kids.

LOL - read the above post Michelle, I'm ready for more than wringing the little blighters necks!!

Afternoon all - Congrats Rchddap - fantastic news!!!!!:j

Sun and showers here again today - chilly too.

DH is on holiday for 2 weeks and in traditional holiday fashion, he's in a foul mood and has retired to bed.....best place for him when he's in that sort of mood.

Popped to the library this morning to pick up some holiday reads, managed to get DD's some sandals too. Then it was back home to cut and strim the front garden and plant out my courgettes. Rain drove us back indoors so there's a huge SC full of mince and tomato sauce going for making meals to take away with us and I've got some mixed dry beans on the go to turn into bean burgers for tea.

Got 3 little ones tomorrow, plus DD's and DH - oh fun....meeting another childminder at the park if it's nice - she'll have 5 kids too so fingers crossed for the weather. DD2 has a party to go to in the afternoon (pressie from pressie box - she's making a card as we speak) and then it's off to London to G.O.S.H on Thursday......

Hope you all have a great afternoon...

So chuffed with myself, I have managed to make a bread pud out of some rather stale bread (it has only taken me 4 hours so far- but is in the oven now & smells lovely) This is the first thing I have managed to do for about 8 months & it feels great( even though now I could do with a lie down)
The weather is quite bright & sunny here at the mo (just wish I could put the washing out, but never mind)
OH at work till 8.30pm so can't visit Mom in hospital today. She has been in 6 weeks & we have only missed about 4 days, but we are her only visitors.
TM - sorry to hear about your tree, perhaps you could nail the culprits to the tree ;) :rotfl:
Love to save & love a bargain

    Afternoon

Catowen - I dont do fast rides which is why I love disney as its so much more than scaring the s*** out of yourself (tho obv you can if you want to) I adore the PeterPan ride and the Haunted Mansion, not keen on its a Small World and Mickeys Philarmagic is just wonderful. I have been to Disney 6 times now & have still never been on Thunder Mountain or Space Mountain though OH & Kids love them. Strangely this time I went on the Hulk in Universal - I dont know why but when I came off I couldnt walk!!

Nicki - you have made me feel tired just reading about what you have done today!

Ticklemouse - I know how you must feel, I often have a housefull of kids and generally they are well behaved but my children have always had respect for belongings and are careful but some of them who come round are terrible. I do chuck them out every now and then and certain kids I will watch all the time.

Well myself - havnt done bad today but not too good either, not done anywashing but need to clear ironing pile before anyway which I will start in a min. Dont need to worry about dinner as OH came home early and we popped into town and all had lunch out which was very nice & filling.

So only plan for rest of day is ironing in front of telly, bath and early night.

Just heard that my dad has been offerred the chance for a "halfway house" so he does not go straight from the hospital to his flat.

Just pray he is not too stubborn to accept it.

When he came back this afternoon for a visit to his flat with the occupational therapist and physiotherapist - the first thing he said to me was "That was a long cold you had - you have not been to see me for two weeks!"

I was so stunned , I pointed out kindly but firmly that it had been four days - from Friday to today - that I had visited every day for a month and that even in the last four days at least three or four of the family had been to visit him every day and that he was not as badly done to as he thought!

If that is the way he feels I might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb and really stay away!

Just about to iron his stuff and then go to the hospital!

Congratulations to our "ladies in waiting!" lol.;)

    (((((((((((((((((((((HUGS ELONA))))))))))))))))))

I know just how you feel, my mother was absolutley awful when she was ill, she was bad enough when well, but on the two occasions she was in hospital she was horrendous....... even though someone was with her most of the time, it was not enough, think she expected us to sleep on a mat on the floor at the side of the bed...........

I eventually divorced myself from the situation before she sent me round the bend, she died a lonely old woman in a home, none of her grand children would visit her, having all been accused of either lying to her or stealing from her............sad but true....... she was failrly wealthy and held that over me for years, when she died she left all her cash to a cats home...... she hated cats............. I was not bothered for myself but to cut out her grandchildren was so cruel.

    Evening everyone

Well another Bank Holiday aftermath at work today but I survived :j :j :j

Yesterday at work everyone chipped in a pound and me and another lady went to the shops for snacks and nibbles. What a carry on! There we were in the middle of Morrisons with me arguing that although the Doritos were on 2 for £2 the Morrisons own make tortilla chips were 2 for £1.18 so obviously a better buy. My shopping partner was all " Urrgh we can't eat shop brand"!!

Have not long finished dinner of roast beef, mashed potatoes, yorkshire puds and roast veg and am feeling a bit stuffed so think I will just catch up on some threads then watch Big Brother in bed :D

    Evening all :D

Have read all the posts so ((hugs)) to catowen - it's a pity you can't go on the rides, but at least you'll be getting away.

(((hugs))) to elona too - you sound like you need them, hun.

Well, I introduced myself to the new neighbours - "Hello, I'm from No ## and I need to speak to your son about some damage caused to my tree :D" She's a lovely lady and I didn't go off on one, but spoke about what they had done - they are all apologetic and his mum is too. She says she'll not forget her first meetng with me :D:D Then, next door neighbour came round with a nice bottle of wine to say sorry. I may open that in a little while, when I go for a soak in the bath. As for the 3rd little ****, his parents wouldn't care so I've told the other boys he is persona non grata in the house or back garden. He is always the ring leader.

Anyway - kids are eventually in bed, athough DS2 is still chunnering away to himself. We've been through all DS1's toys and sorted everything back into correct boxes/groups etc and binned all the crud. Tomorrow we make a start on DS2's room. No wonder they couldn't play games or finish jigsaws as I've found all those missing parts in the other one's room!

Ok - off to put immersion on for 30 mins whilst I pack DW and put WM on. Then, it's a soak with a book, glass of wine and then an early night .... as long as I don't get sidetracked by them there other chatterboxes on msn :rotfl:

Have a good night everyone. :)

    Rchddap1 - congratulations!
Catowen - oh not such good news from hospital - when you are there you can always ask/explain to the ride people why you cant go on and i'm sure they will escort your children for you maybe?? they are very friendly and accomodating from what i remember - or as Bargainrzl said get friendly with a family who will go on with them. You will still have a fab time, there are so many good slow rides and things to do, they do have to cater for people who dont like the bigger ones! Wish I was going - I would take them on rides for you  he he - Is there a Dora ride over there?????
Funkyfairy - glad you enjoyed Paradise Park, my sons nursery are going for a daytrip in july - I cant go with him now as I'm going back to work! sob - now nanny gets to have all the fun!
Catzine - hi, where is that fish pie recipe you and bargainrzl were talking about sun nite? is it on the index collection? I would like to give that a go - in my SC!!!! better have another go with it!
    TM - kids umm.......

Well Ive had pretty slow day, feel tired and sluggish, havent done davina (gasp), fell asleep in chair this afternoon (unheard of!), took library books back and re-newed for umpteenth time Dr Tanyas little angels - keep meaning to read but fall asleep everytime i open a book!

Suppose its time for some down-time - might have a more productive day tomorrow.

    have a good evening all.

edit: Elona - hope yr dad goes for halfway house idea, try not to get too wound up about what he said (dont forget yr under pressure too) - look at it this way....is his own way he is telling you he has "missed" you - so he obvioulsy does appreciate all the time youve been spending on him otherwise he wouldnt have noticed you hadnt been???
Remember he's your dad and he loves you no matter what - as we all do our children xx
