 Morning Queenie, and everyone else when you get here - all enjoying a Friday morning lie-in I hope!
My OH was up & out of the door by half past 5 (first day new job) so I gave up on going back to sleep & got up to do some work.
After yesterday's sunshine the weather has reverted back to grey & wet just in time for the weekend. Typical.
Will pop back later when I have some news; for now I'm having a :coffee: & might even consider getting showered & dressed by 7 (virtually unheard of).

Edit: morning ageandjo, we cross posted! Good luck withthe bread. By now I would have resorted to pulling lumps off it & eating them!

Morning ageandjo, Lucie and all others to follow

Not a good night here last night, think i am over tired.

WM is on and looks like it will be hung on the airer again as its throwing it down here:rolleyes: DW was emptied last night by OH. Toilet cleaned.

Today am taking it easy, but later will need to catch up on some of my course.

OH is sorting out the Laptop given by the OU yesterday and putting all my stuff I need onto it. All word documents, Quicken and of course my course work:p The voice reconigtion software is excellent, so may play around with that later. I had a 3hr lesson yesterday and am having another lesson next week on that and another software package they have given me. What they have given will make my work so much easier and am so grateful for that:D

Have quite a busy weekend ahead. Saturday at OH's cousin for afternoon-they have a new baby, then Sunday round a friends for dinner and evening (dd staying round there with her friend) and Monday-supposed to be going to a small (SIL) BBQ. I am hoping that I will be OK to go to them, if not all...one or two.

I was going to ask if anyone can help me:confused: We have a holiday booked through a charity in a disabled property in 3 weeks tomorrow. I have sent in a holiday form to DD's school but they have said NO even though they state particular circumstances in your request. What do we do??? Her attendance is below the 95% they would allow to go. What happens if we go? Should I call the education dpt of my council and ask? Im really worried. Can anyone advise?

Anyway, got to go and finish DD's lunchbox.

    Breakie:Toast and Jam
Lunch:HM Fishpie (leftover), OH Sausage/Mash/Veg (Leftovers)
    Dinner:Egg & HM CHips

Have a great day everyone!! Hugs.

    PP

PP - nasty dilemma. Can you discuss it with the school & come to some agreement? ie she will take work with her, keep a journal/diary whilst away etc etc. Isn't she due to leave that school soon anyway? If I recall the last 1/2 term of Primary School (more than 20 years ago LOL!) we did b*gger all!
As a very low-life scraping the bottom of the barrel last resort you could play the disabled card............. (I know, I know). It's been given to you by a charity, only chance of a holiday together as a family, your poor OH deserves it as he works so hard to look after you blah blah blah. I feel bad for even mentioning it, but needs must. A bit of positive discrimination is required for a change!

    Good morning everyone,

PP - maybe phone the school and ask why they have refused your holiday request, and explain why you are taking the holiday then. I was lucky with our school, i applied last year for our 2 weeks in June and they agreed, i think because all the SATS have finished etc, and being a few weeks before the end of term the work rate seems to go down. Good luck, hope they change their mind.
ageandjo - good luck getting the bread out, maybe it will be easier when it has cooled down?
Hello Queenie, Lucie and Funky fairy x

Grey old day here again, my 2 goto a church run youth club on Fridays, and they are meant to be doing 'backwood ooking' which is basically a walk and then a fire where they can cook burgers/sausages/potatoes and even bananas!!! With the weather like this im not sure if it will be on, so they will be dissapointed.
What will chear them up is the fact my mum is coming to visit for a couple of days which will be really nice, ive been invited around to a friends house, and for once i will be able to go, as i have the babysitters!!!! and my mum always brings a food parcel with her, so that will see my cupboards stocked up! The children always get spoilt, but we dont see her very often, so it is lovely when she comes down.
So, very busy day today, i have 3 little ones here, and i have to go to the dotors for my weekly blood test, im hoping this will be the last one as i have my hospital appointment next week, keep your fingers crossed that my platelet levels are high, otherwise i guess they will put me back on the dreaded steroids so i will be able to go on holiday. Mind you, id rather have the steroids and be safe on holiday, than not be able to go on holiday!!!!!
Right, off to get started, loads to do, due to the 3 littlies and the cleaning before mum gets here.
    Have a good day everyone,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Morning All

Its horrible and wet here so will do the school run and come home and do housework this am with some paperwork in the afternoon. Non os dinner today as DD is back from her trip (it has flown by) and I will treat her to her favourite - chinese.

Penny Pincher - sounds like the school are being unfair in the circumstances - I would tel the local educational dept and they will prob say that it is up to the Headmaster/Headmistress but to take her anyway and it will be marked as unauthorised. I do understand the reasoning behind not taking them out of school but your circumstances are different....also dont know about your school but at my DD's they just seem to be passing time till its the end of term. It does seem strange that some schools allow more term time holidays than others and it doesnt seem to show in the 'league tables' iykwim.

Ageandjo - hope it came out in the end - I have visions of you standing in your kitchen still shaking the pan!

    PP- I agree with Lucie.
I would definatly go on holiday even if they still didnt agree, lets face it you all need a break from time to time.
Go to the schhol today and talk to them the sooner its done the better to stop all the worry

    Hi

Thanks for the replies! The reason given is because the attendance rate has been under 95%. They were all authorised and most of the days/halfdays were when I needed to go up London for the hospital appointments or when I was in hospital and we she didnt want to go with anyone else.

I put on the form that it was for a disabled holiday and they have noted the particular circumstances but have still refused it:confused:

DD has worked very hard considering this and passed her 11+ with flying colours and has just done her SATS-all subjects predicted at level 5.

I'll call school up later, or may just call the council education dpt and explain the situation. She has about 8 weeks left at school thats all:mad:

    Cheers again
