    Hello again,

Mushypeas - which Trago are you going to? I love Trago, mind you, spend a bomb stocking up on loads of things when we go, i normally go to the Liskard one!!!!

Catz - less than 3 weeks to go now!!!!! Going into Plymouth tomorrow to stock up on the last few bits before i start packing properly, ive been excited for weeks, but now its almost here, the children are getting excited too. It doesnt help that the World Cup starts the day we travel to London, and Englands first match is the day we fly, as they know exactly how many days as all the news progs are always stating how many are left!!!!!

Chickadee - good luck with your exam this morning!!!

Well, i really should be cleaning the bathroom, but popped on here instead!!!! Never mind, it will still be there in a minute!!!
I keep looking at my ebay sales as well, up to £10, but 10 hours to go, so im hoping to do a bit better, all extra for our holiday or the mortgage pig!!!!
Right, off to tackle the bathroom and do some drawing with the little ones.

    Morning :hello:

Yesterday evening I started by being very virtuous - OS home-made dinner in office microwave before going out (total cost about 40p instead of £3.50 for a toastie from Cafe Nero) and WALKED all the way from my office to the concert venue (45 minutes brisk walk) for the fresh air and exercise.

Since then I have completely blown it, with a HUGE bar of Dairy Milk at WH Smith's extortionate railway-station prices, a copy of Company magazine which I got halfway through and forgot to put back in my bag this morning so I could read it on the train  and a takeaway muffin and latte from Pret a Manger this morning. Total cost: £7.18 :eek: (Bargain Rzl clambers back on wagon, until such time as the call of the Starbucks Banana Caramel Frappuccino becomes too strong...)

PP - congratulations on the good night's sleep :T

chickadee - good luck with the word processing exam! I prefer spreadsheets too :D I'm my office's resident Excel whizz and love working out the best ways of writing formulae. But I don't do a lot of word processing and am always having to ask for help with the advanced stuff!

elona - it's great to hear that your dad is sounding happier. I bet it has an impact on his physical recovery too.

Shez and SnowyOwl - I've emailed you.

Got home v late last night and just skimmed the tail end of the daily thread, so whoever asked me about good places to eat in London on a budget - sorry I can't remember who you were :o - (Edit: it was Zed42) if you can be a bit more specific about which bit of London you'll be in, I'll tell you if I'm familiar with the bargain restaurants in the area :D

This might be my only MSE post today, as lengthy meeting with boss has left me with absolutely loads to do  and I bet she'd love it if I stayed late this evening, but I have a concert to go to at 7pm which is a good excuse to escape :D

To all those who have said they don't know where I get my energy from - no, neither do I, and I don't always like having such a high concentration of nights out. Normally I try to stick to a fairly balanced schedule of two (on average) nights out a week, which seems to be enough to go to (and afford) all the concerts/shows I'm really interested in. For some reason though, for about six weeks starting in mid-May, there seems to be twice as much on as normal - and although I don't particularly enjoy going out almost every night, I'd be missing out on some good stuff if I didn't! Then from July to September it's the Proms, which this year are quite nicely balanced, with blocks of three or four evenings where there are concerts I'm interested in (all prepaid on my season ticket) and then three or four consecutive nights when I'd be quite happy to go home and listen to the concerts on the radio. This is a huge improvement on previous summers when I've found myself out almost every night, and have had no time to cook for myself, and Old Style has gone completely out of the window!

    Have a good day
    Rzl xx

manic days well done on your gym visit. I am impressed.

so far my day hasn't quite gone to plan. managed to get some appointments made like dentists etc, which needed doing and arranged to meet friends on friday which will be fab. However, the cleaning has kind of got a little waylaid. WM on with bedclothes and about to tackle the bedroom. if i havn't used it in the last year it is going OUT. three piles - 1. bin, 2. charity shop, 3. ebay.

    Must remember to be ruthless!!!

other than that - going to use stock to make chicken soup -but not quite sure what to put in it - got some carrots, a red pepper, some broccoli, onions and chicken bits. ALso got some noodles - perhaps that would be nicer? All ideas welcomed! :D

Bgnrzl - your life sounds so busy and full. I am feeling the green eyed monster coming on ;) I used to live in london and do miss all the theatre shows somewhat. Although i think it is lazyness stopping me rather than anything else lol

    Hi everyone

PP - glad you're feeling better after some sleep and elona - ((hugs)) to you too, glad your dad is feeling a little more cheerful.

So far today I've taken boys to schools, done a couple of mystery shopping jobs, come home and done a quick tidy and vac and am now treating myself to a coffee whilst I wait for my friend to turn up - she WAS meant to be here by 11.30 (good job I didn't hold my breath). We're going to "do lunch" - hopefully at the pub that's next door to DS2's pre-school so we - ok - she, can have another drink (I'll be driving) :D

I have a gammon joint in apple juice in the SC, which I will have with Jersey Royals (free, from my mum) and steamed veg, for tea. Then I can make a lovely chunky ham and veg soup with the stock. Funnily enough I saw Gary Rhodes making one on tv at the w/e and thought "that's what I do anyway" but he doesn't cook his in apple juice :)

Right, off to apply some lippy ready to face the world and await the imminent arrival of me mate :D

    Hi All,
An unusually early post from me, cos I've got the day off :j as our bedroom is being plastered.
Got a bit of a rude awakening this morning when the plasterer knocked on the door at quarter to 8!! I had to open the door in my dressing gown, think I nearly scared him off
It's lovely to be off during the week, and it's actually sunny here too, so I've got the washing out.
I've been to town to pay in some cheques, bought some fruit and veg from the market (much cheaper than the supermarket, and much better quality)
I've got Beef Bourginon in the slow cooker ready for when boyf gets home from work too. In a min I'm going to parcel up all my Ebay items and take them to the post office. Then I might try and tackle the greenhouse again. Because we've had so much to do in our house, we decided we'd leave the garden til it got a bit warmer. Well I've started digging around the greenhouse and there's loads of worms on the floor under stuff!! Does anyone know how I'm supposed to get them out? I don't want to kill them, as I can pt them in the compost bin. I was thinking of a dustpan and brush???

    Hi everyone!
I'm doing my long day here today so won't be much OS happening. I did manage to get the b/r cleaned before I left though.
There'll be no time for spending today [:j ] as need to pick the small person up from school when I've finished here and gardening club has been cancelled. Looking at the huge grey cloud fast approaching that may not be a bad thing.
Went to see the Da Vinci Code with friends last night. I know it's been panned by the critics but I enjoyed it and it must be tedious going through life always looking to criticise things methinks. Deliberately didn't compare it to the book as I could see how you could be disappointed.
A more mundane evening tonight...OH and I really need to sit down and work out some priorities for the next few months...redoing the kitchen etc as our time is fairly limited and that's going to get worse not better when I work fulltime soon. We meant to do it on Sunday but I got waylaid by Strictly Dance Fever:rotfl:
Am planning on making turkey baked with apples and leek in apple juice for tea tonight and we need to finish the adder costume we've made for the small person's play he's doing at Beavers later on in the week.
    Have a good day
