Hi Again
Bargain_Rzl, I am soooooo jealous! I want to go , been years since I have been to Glyndebourne! Have a fab time.
Pavlos Dog, thanks but a nice long walk is pretty much what we do almost everyday, sometimes diverting via ducks, playgrounds, horses etc. I am looking for things which are a bit more stimulating for him (and me) as it looks like he is going to be stuck with just me for most of the week! We have his usual baby signing class on friday morning which he loves, and am seeing a couple of friends for coffees but I am looking for different things to do with him. I don't usually have a car so things have to be walking distance (haven't braved the bus with him yet!)
Have just been to the library (thanks Zed42) the bad news is that they don't have storytime any more. The good news is that from July they are starting a free baby boogie session with story, rhymes & singing/dancing:D Have remembered that there is a soft play area about a mile & a half away that I have been meaning to try so will take a walk down to that one day too.
Now, will this weather ever settle to sunshine?.......I've got nappies to wash!!!!
:TPost Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
Talk about a heart stopping moment. For one awful second I thought I had forgotten all about my own wedding anniversary. Then sanity came back and I realised today really is only the 20th May 06. Phew. That gave me a few palpitations I can tell you.0

I hadn't spotted that! I'll fix it now. I would have had some fun trying to find it to add it to the archives.

Right, am off - having lunch with Dad who's been working in London this morning, then we're driving down south.
Lillibet - it's only worth getting jealous when the weather's nice
Shez - was on MSN last night with my mum and she did suggest a full-length cagoule and wellies :rotfl:
But have settled upon my long black evening dress - which some of you may recall I managed to get last december at debenhams with 3 discounts one on top of the other, totalling about 40% off
Burgundy leather shoes I normally wear to work
Accessorise fishnets
Fabulous "bling" necklace I got half price in the Barker's closing down sale (£12)
and my pink jacket from my decent suit, cos it'll be chilly.
Am off now, might be back later but am staying at my dad's tonight so prob tomorrow pm.

MURPHY'S NO MORE PIES CLUB MEMBER #1240 -
Hello again everyone
After this morning's extra-early rising for a Saturday, I lifted a book, came over all sleepy then hopped back into bed. I managed another four hours - but am still feeling v.v.tired. I've had a coffee, think I will have to venture out and get some Pro-Plus tablets as I need to have a clear head.
I've also been chatting to my friend who lives in Lincoln - it's a small world as although she's English her grandfather is originally from a town close to where I live in Ireland. I see her (unusual) family name all over the place as it's quite common over here, and give her a run down on what businesses they have. I'm just waiting to bump into someone who looks like her or her father as she's bound to have cousins in my locality. I'm hoping to pop over to see her later in the year. VickyA, yes, Lincoln cathedral is breathtakingly beautiful! When I went last time it was a glorious day but it was so peaceful there, really lovely. I'm hoping my next visit will coincide with the Christmas markets, not that I like shopping, but I've heard so much about the market in Lincoln it'd be a shame not to give it a go.
Lillibet - have you tried https://www.netmums.com? I'm not a mother myself, I understand this website is v.good at pooling ideas from mums and dads who are in a similar position to you. It might help you find some inspiration. About the mother & toddler group, what about if you give them a call, tell them that you're not a naturally outgoing person and would like at least have someone to ask for when you get there, and who will introduce you to a few people. I'm a shy person too, walking into a room full of strangers isn't my thing either, but if you can arrange for one person to take you under their wing until the ice is broken that should help get that first awkward meeting over painlessly.
MushyPeas - what a plonker that solicitor sounds! Imagine advising the vendor to withdraw from the sale - the vendor's solicitor is supposed to be acting in her best interests!! Sounds like the solicitor is up to some sort of fishy business. At least you're getting it sorted out now. Did they really think you wanted to measure for curtains because you weren't moving in?
Penny-Pincher - I think with regard to your new top try some Soda Crystals. You could soak it in a mild solution before putting it in the machine, or just put a scoop of crystals into the detergent dispenser in the machine. This worked on bedclothes I managed to get oils onto (nothing kinky you understand, just some scented oil I'd been using to try and get some sleep!!).
Manicdays - I've got what you're going through to look forward to. Some of my friends (why are so many of my friends on anti-d's??) who came off the same one as you said that they had to grit their teeth for a while before feeling good came back without the tablets. They had to push themselves to go to work etc. It's probably too late now and you're at work, but I'd agree, try and compel yourself to go out, and distract yourself. Your body has to readjust and make it's own happy juices now, but you can help it and get lively. If it just isn't happening, then please return to your doc and see if you can try a longer, gentler plan for stopping the tablets. I'm dreading this stage of the treatment, but other people have managed it even if it takes a long time. Best of luck, I hope you get through today with some smiles.
Pink-Winged...did I make a mistake with today's date when I opened the thread?
I have to get back to my books but my motivation has gone AWOL. It's defo not down the back of the sofa - possibly the cat ate it? He likes his food, so maybe that's where Queenie and Murtle's motivation is too...
Bye all

OH & DD just gone out to buy some soil for planting plants (BOGOF) and drop a GPS system that one of OH's mates couldnt work out and thought it was faulty-but wasnt.....and he's supposed to be intelligent:rotfl: DD managed to work it ok:p
Both washloads have been half dried on the line and needed to be finished on the airer and duvet cover on the back of the door-maybe I need to get another airer
DD emptied the DW for me:D and is helping to pot the plants when they get back. She also did her room which is now included in the pocket money policy weekly;).....well they have to learn...dont they!!
I have made a few phonecalls checking on this and that, updated my accounts and sorted out the amount we should be able to afford for the credit card bill this month. Also managed to move over the excess £100 from our grocery/petrol budget to the ING account. Have spent £200 these past 4 weeks on all food, groceries and petrol...so am best pleased-plus our freezers are full to bursting and so are cupboards etc. Next few weeks should only need fruit, veg and fridge items:j
I washed my new top that was given me and soaked before hand in a few soda crystals/hot water and so far looks like it has come out, but wont know for sure until it totally dries in the next couple of hours...so fingers crossed.
Have just had some lunch and didnt have the jacket spud as planned, but had the leftovers from the lamb stew and dumplings on thursday and still tasted good.
Anyway, need to do some more reading for me essay. Hugs to all.

Afternoon all
Had a very slow start this morning (read "i watched Saturday Kitchen in my dressing gown!).
Got over to the Isle of Man in 25mins on Thurs which is mad cos it took me longer to get to the airport! Having said that I was obviously feeling too smug because last night I arrived at Ronaldsway Airport for my 6pm flight and it was 4 hours delayed:mad: . Dont know if any of you have been to that airport but its not the place to be stuck for 4 hours - did every sudoku i could find and drank them out of dry white!
Anyway it all went well and it looks like im off to Jersey next week to another arm of the business (ill get to Brazil yet you see!!:D )
Today I am having a bit of a cook in cos i have my veg box stuff to use up so im going to cook
Moussaka
Gammon and veg in the SC (ala Gary Rhodes Sat. Kitchen!)
Seafood and Cheddar Rissotto with Steam Fried Asparagus

so wish me luck! that lot will last me a month!
I also need to have a clear out of my clothes this weekend to make room for my summer stuff (lol heres hoping eh its chucking it down here!)
