Morning folks,
So far this morning I have dyed myself brown, I do hope I don't streak too much!
Last night I made the cake for my ma - so she won't shout too hard! Just need to dig out some candles and wrap her pressie and we're sorted.
Today, I need to pack my suitcase as I am away for the week on a course, I've never been away from DD for so long, so that'll be odd.
This afternoon I am having my hair hi-lighted, so that's 3hrs of my day gone!
Tonight we are off out with friends of ours, this is the first time we've been out kid-free - ever! We moved to the area just before I had DD so we're still in that period of establishing new friendships. Should be a laugh.
Lilibet - I remember well DH being away for a week when DD was 6mths or so, and remember that in fact it was easier than when he was around, LOL. Not that my DH doesn't pull his weight, because he does. Just because I did things at my own pace. Cheap things to do to entertain Spud - mother and toddler groups / swimming / doing his foot and hand prints in paint ready for Father's Day. I used (and still do) to take DD to the library a lot, from about the word dot! Sorry, that's about all my inspiration - not yet had my 1st coffee!!
Weather looks atrocious here, however, no washing to do!
Have a fun day!GC - March 2024 -0 -

Thanks everyone for some fab ideas, you've got my inspration going now!
So today we will go to the libriary as I haven't been in a couple of months, they normally have storytime on a tuesday afternoon so will see if that is still on & go back then:cool:.
Will take Spud swimming, or at least splashing:D
Food play. Spud isn't remotely interested in putting things in his mouth so will make a couple of jellies & let him have a good play with them......in the garden! Will have to wait for a nice day though:rolleyes::rolleyes:.
I have been trying to get up the courage to go to the local mother & toddler group, I feel a bit of an idiot walking into a established group with a 10 month old but I will try to find my courage & go on Wednesday morning. Thanks for the prod Shez:A
Last time we tried to do foot & hand prints it was an unmitigated disaster,a nd that was with 2 of us! However, we have been talking for ages about putting a rainbow mural (sp?) on his bedroom wall, so I might have a go at this!

Hi all
Big hugs to all, sorry for not posting for couple of days. Bit stressed, suddenly have lots of computer based freelance work to do (with one arm...) so been limiting other computer stuff - I've missed MSE-OS
Also, vendor pulled out of house on Tuesday  After the last couple of weeks I've had I feel like painting a target on myself, standing in the middle of the road and just saying 'come on then, here I am, get it over with'! Blimey, life can be a real pain sometimes can't it? Anyway I decided to fight for the house, turns out the vendor's solicitor had advised her I was going to pull out, so she did first, just before exchange! After three days of stress, with the EA in the end going to vendor's place of work to find out what was going on, as of Friday 4.30 she was happy to exchange next week. Keep everything crossed for me.
Must get on with some more work - arm hurtsHope to catch up with you all later. ((((((hughs)))))) to all
MP xx

Good morning everyone :j
A very slow start to my morning todayDH has gone fishing, he left about 6.00am, so far I've stuck a load in the WM, watched American Idol, BBLB and Commander in Chief - hmm me thinks I better pull my finger out my A*** and get on with some housework
My new waffle maker arrived yesterday from Tchibo the 12.99 one - looks great - must have a search for some waffle recipes as the ones that came in the booklet look a bit odd (ie I don't have all the ingredients :rotfl: )
Had a letter from Ocado this morning saying they are now delivering in our area - has anyone used them before, are they good? Looks a bit pricey
Anyway I really had better go, I've still got Lost and ER to watch and I won't do that till my house is like a new pinSometime in 2010 then :rotfl:
(((((hugs))))) to everyoneSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Morning all!
Weather v. changeable here this morning cos of the wind. It's raining lightly, but 5 minutes ago I could at least see "enough blue sky to make a sailor a pair of trousers" whereas now the clouds have blown over and it's grey  (Hope your washing isn't still out PP!)
Having a totally non OS day todayas am living up to my reputation as the posh bird of the OS board
Am off to the opera at Glyndebourne. Y'know, little opera house in the wilds of East Sussex, posh frocks & DJs, champagne picnics in the gardens between acts... In nice weather it's lovely; on a day like today at least the show should be good! Every year they do six different shows (loads of performances) and every year I apply in the ballot for standing-room tickets (£10 or £14 each) and usually get two or three of the things I asked for. This year I got ALL SIX
So today is "Die Fledermaus", which appropriately enough for the venue, is about genuinely posh people getting together with people pretending to be posh for the day, and getting sloshed on champagne :rotfl::rotfl:
This particular day out is costing me nothingas am going down there in my dad's car, he is paying me back for the tickets, and he's treating me to a proper, catered, extortionately priced picnic  The only thing is, the 2-person picnic only comes with a half-size bottle of champagne to last the whole evening, so I have a bottle of half-price Tesco's Codorniu Cava (£4.50 on offer from £9) chilling in the freezer which I will be taking to augment our supplies
Oh heck, it's now chucking it down! Suspect south coast is the same! Got to work out what the heck I'm going to wear cos I have 2 pairs of dressy shoes but both are made of fabric! And I have a couple of frocks to choose from, but both are sleeveless - and long (picture me with rising damp!) I have one short option but am "carrying a little extra weight"since I last wore it, and don't know if it'll still do up
Only one way to find out I suppose - catch you later!
(Edit: I think they do have a couple of marquees which they can put up for people to dine in when the weather's like this!)

I've been off my ADs two years next month, and it was a huge struggle for a good 6 months afterwards. I was on 40mg Citalopram.
I started to wean myself off March 2004 - dropping down to one tab every other day for two weeks, then one tab every two days for two weeks (or until withdrawal symptoms eased) - and so on. I took my last tab June 5th 2004.
The symptoms were not too good - pins and needles constantly and dizzy spells everytime I lent over, but I was determined to do it.
If you ever want to chat - please feel free to pm.
Best of Luck with it Lisa, and big hugs!!!!!

hope you all have a great weekend.
lillibet - have you thought about taking spud out just for a nice long walk? nothing like fresh air to send him off to sleep like...well, a babyor are there ay friends/rellies you havent seen in a while you could catch up with?
PP - im sure i read somewhere (probably here ) that washing up liquid is good for grease stains
moggins - dont go revising too hard. remember your brain needs a break to let all the info sink in.
queenie - have you looked down the back of the sofa? you find all sorts of things lurking back there, perhaps your motivation is one of them? (on a serious note, stop being so hard on yourself, we all need a day off from time to time).
bargainrzl - cheap plonk? you sound like my sort of girl. have a great day at the opera and enjoy being spoilt :beer:know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Hi everyone!
The weather is veering between chucking it down or sunshine???**!!
Am at work this morning so not too much OS here although hanging around on the boards and stockpiling all your brill tips!!
Have managed to put through a dark load...only hope OH spots it and hangs it out for me in my absence.Te hee!!
Am planning to do some baking this pm as the weather looks set to be horrible.. I think it'll be the orange and coconut cake from Be-Ro and a malt loaf and then I think the small person has designs on my time. Either making dinosaurs from a kit my Mum's given him or a bit of the Lion, Witch and Wardrobe which I got for him this week from the charity shop for 20p.
Think I'm also going to need to do a bit of sorting out as the house seems to be full of piles of bits and bobs which need filing or simply putting away [now that should be a thrilling job:rolleyes:
I shall finish watching the HP Goblet of Fire DVD tonight which my friend has lent me...I fell asleep mid way through it last night!
