Accident in store

I recently had an accident in a supermarket. This was 100% the stores fault. A visit to A&E showed that I have suffered a minor injury. An accident report form was completed instore at the time, so far I have heard nothing from the company.
What should I do next? Any advice?
I must admit, there are some rude people on this board. Not necessary at all, where has the empathy gone? I'd hate to think what would happen if any of you suffered the same injury. An injury is an injury, regardless of how minor it may seem.
Belair, if you still haven't heard from them I'd call their head office and explain the situation and that no one has contacted you with an apology etc, the staff were too busy blaming each other to offer any assistance etc. Did they offer to pay for a taxi to hospital? You should then ask for a written apology and possibly come sort of goodwill gesture for the trouble caused, either vouchers or flowers etc. Then ensure the staff get better training on how to deal with an accident in store, and to actively look out for equipment that could harm others.
I agree, some stores seem to employ people with less intelligence than a monkey, so it's scary to think what would happen if it happened to me.
I hope you're feeling better soon.

I hope your feeling better I would have at least expected a phonecall to see if you were alright that itself would make me angry, hope you do get an appology its the least they could do.0

This thread is now bordering on ridiculous.
The Op is asking for advice on "how to ring up the store and ask for an apology"
How old is she?<laugh>
When you came on initially you can stand in your corner and bleat on about not wanting compensation but what you were really doing is testing the water to see if it had ever happened to anyone else.
If you are looking for guidance here it is . Stop looking for empathy on here and make the damm phone call asking for an apology.
just out of curiosity - when they do apologise what are you going to do next? I sincerely hope you "may" have been honest before and the answer is "nothing".0 -
Despite what the less charitable of you have to say the store does have a duty of care towards its customers. If an accident/incident takes place in a store and the store is aware because it has been reported to them then they will proceed to do an investigation for their own purposes. If the customer has been injured and gone directly to hospital they have a duty to report under RIDDOR to the HSE. I would suggest contacting head office directly, who will have a process in place for dealing with such incidents (as they need to be able to show due diligence and comply with their statutory duties). If you have no joy from their head office then contact the local authotity environmental health department and explain what has happened and let the head office know that this is what you intend to do. I expect you will then see a rather rapid response.
Wouldnt fall under RIDDOR, EHO have no charge over H&S in this case.BR date 18/11/090 -

Perhaps you misread or misunderstood the first post by the OP
The OP, in that post, did not ask if the store should be issuing an apology, simply that not hearing from the store she wondered if she should do something.
What an oddly judgemental view you seem to have based on your unfounded suppositions.0 -

The OP deserves compensation, even if it's a bunch of flowers, or to cover the expenses of transport to hospital and back at the very LEAST.Foreign politicians often zing stereotypical tunes, mayday, mayday, Venezuela, neck

Why? for knocking something over onto themselves? should maybe have taken more care in the first place.0 -

I think the point is that the store left something in a potentially dangerous position which was then caused to move by the OP moving something else.
To be fair to the OP they have not asked for compensation0
