Barclaycard Pre Application Check

Just did this for funsies. I got an 80-90% likelihood of being accepted for a Goldfish card which seems right as I already have one.

My OH got the same and just applied for one and has been accepted. :j

Lets not get confused here - Barclays ONLY use Equifax - they are partners with them! I bet they use CallCredit for initial checking of status etc as they are cheaper - but they will do the full search with Equifax as they partner them!

Bear this in mind - I know for a fact i'll get declined if they go near Equifax, my call credit is empty so we'll soon see I guess.....

What cards did they show you? Gold/Marbles etc....? You should do it - just to see what they offer you mate

Did you get instant decline? Is your Equifax bad/CallCredit clear?

Hmmmm - it does appear then that they are using CallCredit (CC) to assess the instant checker but then Equifax to do full search thus the refusals after such positive news from the CC check! The reason being no-one uses CC much therefore we'll all have a better CC file than Equifax!
