Hopefully more lenders will adopt this approach to help people not get caught in the 'rejection spiral'.

It was 'good news' for me! Although it was just out of curiosity, I've already got a Barclaycard!

I think its a waste of time. I got "Its good news! You are 70-80% likely to be accepted for a card".

So I applied, and it declined me! I'm not surprised, if I'm honest (and I don't want or need the credit as it happens), but I think its a fair bit misleading!

If they do some sort of "pre-check", then they should know for sure if you will be accepted, and not just give some sort of wooley "yeah, its quite likely, maybe, that we'll give you a card".

What a crock of 5hit!

I'd be appealing and quoting their own words to them

'If you want added confidence your Barclaycard application will be approved before you apply, you can check your likely eligibility with our new pre-application check - without the need to make a full application.'

So as it says you would likely be approved, why did it lead you to apply only to get declined? I'd be demanding they remove the search.....
