Barclaycard Pre Application Check

Well after being told a couple of days ago I was eligible for the Goldfish card because they could provide existing visa customers with a mastercard it turns out that is complete nonsense. They can only offer existing customers breath or one pulse. I can't believe the pre app check says I have the option of three cards and then I'm told that I can only apply for breath or one pulse, non of which appeared in the check.

Got to love consistent customer service

Well I decided to give up on getting another card from Barclaycard and applied for a platinum MBNA card, I got accepted instantly with a limit of £2300. I was expecting a definite decline but looks like my patience and keeping up payments for a couple of years has perhaps paid off

I just gave it a go and it gave me a 60-70% chance of getting a Barclaycard Gold with 0% for 6 months. Tho that sort of offer is no good to me. Gotta have a longer 0% or a decent LOB.
Although I did apply for a Leeds BS card (also Barclays) a few months ago which declined me. I thought it may have been due to me already having a Barclaycard.

This is funny. This morning I got approved for a barclaycard initial instant decision online, then found this thread after, just tried the pre application check and it said I would not be eligible for any card. How odd.
Anyone know what the usual limit on a barclaycard initial is?

Congrats on the card, my initial limit was £1250 and then went up to £1750 after 3 months. It will be different for everyone dependent on credit rating and available credit already.

I already have a Barclaycard - I've had it for almost 6 months.

But I thought I'd try this anyway to see what results I got:

"Unfortunately we’ve not been able to find your details from the information provided. You may want to check the information you gave or contact your local authority to ensure your name and address are correctly recorded on the Electoral Roll. You can then try again"

My details are defo on the electorol roll. I also have my current account and contents insurance with Barclays!

Its a pity that this system isn't as good as it ought to be, it would certainly go a long way to helping sustain a good credit report with soft checks etc. Right idea but not perfect in execution.

I applied for a credit card after being told i had a 80-90% sucess rate. I then was provisionaly accepted, but they needed some info such as bank statements and wage slips. Not heard since. I did send them off though. What does this mean?

Be patient. They would get back to you. Remember Royal Mail strikes not helping
