Whats the most expensive Vets Bill for cats and dogs you have recieved and why?
Mine was about 3 years ago, i found a kitten tied up in a carrier bag outside my front gate (i live on a farm so we get this all the time!) i took him in and i nursed him better. I fed him the same brand as the rest of my cats but a kitten version, everything was fine then when he was about 8 months old he just looked like he was going to explode, i presumed he had eaten to much as hes a keen bird hunter.. he then started to try and go in the litter tray a few times with no luck. So i rang up my vets and they said to bring him straight down. We went down he felt his tummy and he said something was blocking him up inside his bladder, with further investigation they said it was the cat crunchies, they had crystalized in his bladder causing a painful blockage! They explained he would have to be operated on. Now we have stop him eating crunchies and if he does they have to be the ones from the vets for a sensetive bladder! £569 later and hes a happy healthy cat, expensive but hes worth every penny!!

This is him in his usual position! Hes called Ambrose

Aw! He's gorgeous, he just looks so soft and caramelly.
My worst bill was for my labrador !!!!! who damaged her cruciate ligament. it had to be replaced in a tricky op. with an artificial ligament. Very sucessful even though she was 6 yrs. old. That cost about £850 I think

My dog had canine meningitis.
Insurance paid, thankfully. I would have paid it anyway as the love he gives me is priceless.
Could have spent that on a week's hol to Spain!Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0 -
Awww Ambrose looks exactly the same as my Honey, except she has a spotty tummy courtesy of her Bengal mummy. I've never had any expensive vet bills *touch wood* but just had to comment! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

My cat had urine crystals and got blocked up, he was operated on and came home apparently fine with Hills cd food.
A few weeks later it happened again, back to vet another op and Hills sd, which is supposed to dissolve crystals.
Two months later in spite of the food it happened again!
Total cost getting on for £3000, thank god we have insurance.0 -

Over £1500 for my fat cat Hugin... He decided to play chicken with a car... Emergency call out for vet at 4am, 3 different operations, umpteen stays at the vet and x-rays - the final bill I think was about £1500... thankfully insuredDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
just over £1000 for our most expensive, the cat jumped out of a third floor window as an 11 week old, he broke his back leg in at least 2 places, he wouldn't stop purring from when we found him (luckily landed on carboard boxes) and the vet nurses at the emergency vets ended up making a toy for him, because all he wanted to do was play.
He still doesn't believe in gravity at the age of 1, so we have nets kinda velcroed on to the window when we open them, so he can't go through!
Yet again thank god for insurance, we got him insured 4 days before it happened!
p.s Ambrose looks very much like Moss who did the death defying jump.0 -
Over £2,000 for a Staffie with a womb infection. It was during the petrol crisis and actually getting her to a vet was tricky enough. There was a secondary infection, so she was opened up twice. I did work out how much it was worth a year for her life after that, and put that that way it seems reasonable...0
