Best contraception? 28 no more children!

Hello guys
I'm 28 with a child of 4, my hubby is 32. We decided we wouldn't like any more children - I had a traumatic birth and truthfully we couldn't afford another baby.
OH is not keen on having the snip, I have the implant (ran out in Oct) and don't fancy another due to the side effects. The pill, I've heard, makes you put on weight
Can anyone else recommend anything?
Thanks x x x

Tell him to get the snip!!!
Ive had it done and it was no more traumatic than a trip to the dentist.
25 mins later your done & dusted!!0 -
Best form of contraception i have used is the evra patch works similar to the pill but you change it once a week and has less side effects than the pill.
The injection can be good for certain people too i came off it though as i ballooned in weight and didnt get another period for nearly two years after coming off it but thats just my experience.:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -

He has panic attacks at the dentist!! Hmmm wish he'd have it done - mind you, haven't had sex for a while so maybe thats the best contraception!:rotfl:Avon Representative October 2010: C16: £276 :T C17: £297 :j0 -
After child no3 i was given the option of seperate beds or gettings myself spayed at the vets. The vets won.
As my wife pointed out to me, a woman having it done is very complicated and is a big operation in all honesty.
For a man its minor surgery.
No wait i don't mean minor surgery, i mean just surgery?0 -
The snip takes a while to be fully effective too, so you need to find something while you wait for all the swimmers to be out of his system.
I had my tubes tied after DS3 and have never regretted it. DH was too much of a wimp, and also said that if something catastrophic happened to me and the boys, he wouldn't want not to be able to have more children. Whereas I was quite clear that I wasn't doing it again! But that was just his excuse, if you ask me, I still say he was just wimping it.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
It takes nerves of steel to let another man ,or woman, to come at your crown jewels with a sharp knife.0

Have you tried depo-provera? I've not had any side effects (apart from not having any periods, but then again that's why I'm on it!). No pills to have to remember etc.0

Hi Humphrey - sorry what is Depo-Provera?Avon Representative October 2010: C16: £276 :T C17: £297 :j0

You are a bit young to be so definite, maybe? For the snip, I mean. I have a few friends who have recently had their second after a never-again-not-no-more situation. I don't mean to patronise you, so sorry if it sounds that way.
Mirena coil works for me, though lots of horror stories on t'internet! Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
I'm sure this isn't what you want to hear, but I've never understood why people don't just use condoms? I've always used them with my OH and never found they ruined the mood or anything IYSWIM (and he certainly has no complaints) plus I've never fancied going on hormonal contraception, too many horror stories!Started Comping 25th September 2013.
