    Hi Quentin;

"Definitions of opinion on the Web:
a personal belief or judgment that is not founded on proof or certainty"

E.G. the fact that the copyright notice appears on the Price Match page. It appears on all pages and is controlled/put there automatically by our system; it is not evidence of recent update. You had no way of knowing this, hence it is an opinion.

    Thanks,
    Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Mobiles.co.uk. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"
  • Sorry about this; the Price Match Promise is an old page that we should have removed when we stopped offering it (how did you find it out of interest?)

If you use the search engine on the mobiles.co.uk website it comes up on there

but as others have mentioned, its easy enough to find on google (its the first result for "mobiles.co.uk price match")
Could you do me a favour and PM me your order number, so I can get this sorted? Once I know exactly what you've ordered I can work out how we make this right; obviously as you've bought under the expectation that we'll price match I'll see what we can do on this front to make sure you're happy keeping the phone. If you want to return it for a full cancellation then please let me know so we can arrange this - please do NOT send the phone back to our Watford offices.

No problem i will PM the order number now - If we can get something sorted, as much as im now concerned by customer services, i need a new phone, and thats the quickest and easiest way for me to go about it.

Obviously, failing to reach an agreement i would like to just cancel it, and just stick with what dialaphone have been offering.
I'll make sure the price match page is retired today (cue MJ...)

Just thought id mention... its still there ;)

    Silk,

Previous posts of yours carrying my name have been removed. You are breaking forum rules by identifying posters. Please remember this, and edit the above post? Yes, my name is on Press Releases. The numerous awards were given to us by several independent publications and mobile phone industry bodies and reflect the hundreds of thousands of happy customers who have used our innovative and industry-leading website.

    Quentin,

I'm going to be blunt but please don't take offense; you are not being helpful, you are under-informed about the operation of both a commercial web site and a mobile phone retailer and I do not have time to continue responding to your posts so please, let me get on with helping customers and keep your opinions out of these threads? Feel free to start your own threads if you have any questions, comments, opinions or facts you feel you must share. MJ appears to have accepted that we're here to solve specific customer problems, not spend all my time arguing this or that; could you do me the courtesy of respecting this too?

    Regards,

    The NERVE!

No. MJ has accepted nothing of the kind. If all your other dishonest replies aren't enough to make me more determined to warn as many people as possible about your company then THAT ensures that I most certainly will.

I am now more certain than ever about this company - STAY AWAY unless you do everything 100% correctly and are prepared to sue as required.

    Hi Quentin,

As I said, the page shouldn't exist - it's an artifact of an old Price Match scheme that we haven't operated in years., it isn't linked from our main navigation and I've asked that it's all tidied up to avoid this happening in future.

There is currently precisely one person who is "using" this outdated Price Match Promise and I've already taken steps to get in touch with them and sort things out, as obviously we are at fault here for not updating the page earlier.

    Thanks for the commentary.

And as I said more than two YEARS ago; no cpw company honours any of its price-match "promises". A PROMISE or a GUARANTEE by any of its clones is absolutely WORTHLESS. Excuse after excuse... lie after lie... promise after promise...

No, I will NOT "accept" that i should leave you to spout such rubbish on ANY thread where I KNOW differently!!
  • An update on my progress today (just to keep everything together).

No phone call from supervisor by just after 9am (in fairness, that may have been a short deadline) - but with 14 days approaching i wanted to keep on top.. so back on the phone..

on hold for about 30 minutes before the call was taken - was instructed to email supervisor - not given a phone number as requested because "supervisors dont take direct calls.."

so got an email sent off straight away

as the message on the phone says "we love email, and aim to respond to all emails within 4 working hours" - i thought id ring them again, as 5 hours later there was still no response (about 2:30)

"one second, ill check now......................... sorry, supervisors take up to 72 hours to respond depending on how busy they are"

    and thats todays updates:mad:

I've sent a pm with my order number, so hopefully the company rep can sort something tomorrow...

ill report back once i have updates (hmmmm.. good or bad... any bets??:D:D)

Standard responses from Ben and Ben et al...

    - Because only one... two.. three or however many have posted a problem on here there are thousands of "happy" customers who don't!

    - Our T&c aren't t&c at all - merely FAQ's - despite being arrived at by clicking on "click here for t&c".... (but we'll ignore that point all together)

    - Our t&c will be changed to make them "clearer"

    - the cheque is on it's way...

    - ALL cheques are received within FOURTEEN days

    - cheques may take 7-14 days PLUS 28 days but don't take as long as that in reality - ignore the fact that the standard time from receipt of a claim is nearer 50 days+ and alter the t&c (again) to make them "clearer" so that there is in fact no time scale for receipt

    - If all else fails, it's a one-off mistake which they PROMISE to rectify

    - If THAT fails, apologise and say you don't know why that happened but you will look into it

    - when the problem still remains unresolved, state how busy your company is dealing with 7,000 customers a week (no wonder they don't answer their phones or reply to emails despite the 4 "hour" timescale stated BY THEM!)

    - when criticised, switch to attack on a different front

    - when that doesn't deter people, tell them not to post because it intereferes with your "good works" on here

    - Put words into critics' mouths in a desperate attempt to confuse and misportray

    - Pass the buck so that it could be anyone dealing with the answers - then pass the buck to a "customer facing department" who DON'T do their job properly in the first place through "normal channels"

Oh - it all went quiet, I thought you'd decided to leave me alone.

    Oh well.

Please stop calling me dishonest. It's not true and it's not called for - you misunderstand various things, misinterpret others and then accuse me of being dishonest. It's not constructive and doesn't help MSE users.

However, I've spent about 200 posts trying to discuss this with you and we've got nowhere, so I'm not hopeful this can be dealt with. You are welcome to your opinions about us (even though they have no basis in fact, and actually you are a customer of ours who has not had any problems with your claims).

    MJ,

Are you saying you know more about my company than I do?

Really, you're being silly now. Price Match hasn't operated for years, but apparently you KNOW differently?

I can only speak as I find.

Ordered phone early PM, arrived next day, without freebee ( blue-tooth headset). Sent email, responded three days later and headset received next day by special delivery. Opted for automatic cash-back and received an email confirming cheque will be sent within 30 days.

    No complaints so far.
