I wish you could sue smokers!

Can I just ask what is bigotted about asking to not be smoked around because
a) it's harmful
b) it's unpleasent.
That's all I'm (and most of us non-smokers) are asking - to not be smoked around. That's all. Nothing more. I certainly haven't asked that all smokers be lined up and shot, though I know people who do think that.
Rather than comparing unrelated issues, how about a new thread on the effects of vehicular polution and what could be done about it? Or anything else for that matter?
P.S. went to Worcester this morning for an optician appointment. Drove there in my poluting car. Had to, otherwise I'd have spent the night walking and wouldn't make it work on time. Obviously, parked in the car park and not right slap-bang in the middle of the shopping centre. Inhaled smoke the entire time I was outdoors despite my best efforts to walk around the smokers. Things is, for every one I walked around, I walked into another. And there they were, outside WH Smith's doorway so there smoke was blowing into the shop. Could I have avoided them? Well no, I'd really rather look after my sight if it's all the same to all you ardent smokers.
Should have gone to Specsavers0 -
You certainly attract smokers0

Actually I don't think we've quite got that far yet. Sadly.
But that is my point. I can choose to not go into a set smoking area. The problem is walking down the street and not seeing the b@st@rd smoker in front of me lighting up because they're hunched over and only knowing about it when I get a faceful. Or people standing around doorways. Or people that inhale their smoke, then turn away from their friends to exhale it... into my face. Or those that smoke around children or vulnerable adults that can't walk away.
It's not hypocrisy, it's simple thoughtlessness on the part of the b@st@rd smokers.
Last summer, I was demonstrating Kempo at Bedford River Festival. We're athletes. We were out of breath at times. But still the b@st@rd smokers stopped to watch, so we frequently took in their fumes. We weren't in a position to walk away - they came to us not the other way around. Often the case.

im totally with you
i really shouldnt make this public, but think they should make them more dangerous to kill off smokers quicker and then ban them.....ok its a bit harsh but im totally sick of being forced to either sit in my house or breath in harmful toxins for my unborn baby
its discgusting, and smokers should be more considerate and smoke in a gasmask or just die off

what REALLY beggars belief is if you anti smoking mob put as much energy into harrasing the govt about the war in Afganistan then perhaps we could get somewhere, drugs affect more lives than us having a smoke outside, get on your high horses and demand that the EU buys all the poppy production in stan and that will starve the Taliban of funds, and save the lives of forces/civilians alike,
We might just might give you a little more respectIMOJACAR

Jesus. Re-reading this thread is a terrifying example of how judgmental, narrow-minded and offensive some people are.0

You're right, you really shouldn't have said it. My Dad died at 65 after a lifetime of smoking and I think that was early enough.
He was a good hard-working man, well mannered and kind and smoking was his only weakness. Reading your post makes me sick to my stomach and extremely angry.Mortgage Free in 3-T2 : Started at £151,000 Nov. 2009 Mortgage Free Oct 1st 2015

No-one is forced to smoke outside.No-one is forced to smoke anywhere. They choose to do so. It is prohibited indoors, which is a perfectly reasonable thing in a civilised society.;)
