I seriously hope that anyone that has suffered aa cot death does not read this, you should be thoruoghly ashamed of yourself,
I have reported this post of yours as abusive
How exactly is that abusive? Its an opinion, I dont think people are honest enough with parents - like mentioned in a previous post - NHS didnt mention anything about there child glue ear and there smoking, but south african doctor told them they had to stop because they were making there child ill - and people should be told the TRUTH
scientifict back up?!?! have a word with any gp, midwife, health visitor....and find out
I have had a cot death in the family, and a close friend of the family - its one of THE single most difficult things in the world, and I would never be abusive to any parent whos lost a child.
But at the end of the day, people need to open there eyes. Do they really think chain smoking in the house, and then losing a child to cot death cant possibly be connected??
If u let your child play with matches, and it set itself on fire and died, would u not expect someone to tell you that you were stupid doing that in the first place?
If you let a child take drugs and your child died, would you not expect the police to be involved because it was your fault??? Think about it, smoking may be illegal, but smoking around a baby is as much murder as setting them on fire IMO
Read my sig, im honest and im blunt - deal with itYes im disabled....yes I can do things you cant....but you can do things I cant so were equal!0 -
Your statement is so wrong....FACT!
A lot of people I know who smoke, dont do it in front of their children, because they care, a lot of smokers respect that some of their freinds (like myself) DONT smoke, so disappear to smoke a cigarette (even if we are outside), indeed I know smokers who will not smoke in their OWN house whilst I am visiting out of sheer respect for me as a NON smoker.
In effect, a lot of smokers CARE about the fact that not everyone does smoke. I wish it could be said the other way around, but its posts like yours that make me realise a lot of non smokers DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYONE ELSE. fact!
Smoking is banned from enclosed areas for a reason,
I dont know where this 3% of car pollution popped up, but it seems the maths are flawed MAJORLY
http://www.edf.org/documents/2656_MotorAirPollutionCancer.pdf
I have already previously included links for comparisons, but to be fair this link includes ALL pollutants.
I think someone smoking on the street can do me no worse than someone driving on the street, I could include plenty more links to compare them for you, but it seems the Anti smokers are too blinkered to accept them anyway, choosing as it were to say "save it for another thread", personally this thread is about having the right to sue a smoker on the street, so in comparison, if it were the case, it is reasonable for me to have the right to sue a driver for driving down the same street.
As for smoking outside a school, just how hypocritical is it for someone to moan to a smoker outside a school, whilst pulling up in their 4x4 when its a 5 minute walk from their home, to pick their child up?
Of course we should ignore this factor because "well erm....that's different, its a necessary evil, I NEED my car".
Passive smoking is no worse outdoors than passive vehicle pollution, we could go round in circles arguing it, I have shown just a few statistic links, yet I have not seen any link or statistic either on this thread, or online that states statistically "passive smoking is worse than vehicle pollution".
Until such pie charts or statistics can prove to me that vehicle pollution is safer than a passive smoker in the street, I am no position to complain to a smoker for smoking in the street, neither can anyone else for the same principle.
Your picking up my statistics wrong.
I said 60% of cancers were caused by lifestyle choices - Smoking, drinking, eating unhealthy & not exercising enough - only one of those can cause cancer in other people other than the user - smoking (and with your statistics saying 34% is smoking alone)
Only 3% of cancers are caused by ALL enviromental factors, cars INCLUDED so the number of cancers caused by car pollution may quite well/and is likely to be even less than 3%. (according to you this is 6%, which is still a very low percentage)
I do believe that cars do more damage to the planet than humans themselves, and I agree with u that cars are dangerous and a serious problem - but not as dangerous as cigarettes and you know this already - statistics prove so
I am with you, cars cause pollution and I will fight for more ecofriendly cars - but I dont want to spam this post anymore about something that causes under 3% of all cancers, against 36% of the cancers caused by smoking
Good for you having decent friends, I do know a few myself - but my frustration is aimed at the inconsiderate ones - like the ones who hang around entrances to hospitals etc....which is unfair - dont you agree?Yes im disabled....yes I can do things you cant....but you can do things I cant so were equal!0 -

Is it just me or has this thread turned into ShaShaSha's own personal crusade?
People smoke, that's how it is. Your making them out to be some kind of outcasts of society!! (I am a non smoker who has NEVER smoked) Personaly I think you need to learn the word compromise, smokers now have to smoke outside and people are still moaning about that!!
I think everyone has got that you are majorly anti smoking, "we get it" OK
Jees!!0 -
I gave up in 1979, best thing I have EVER done, I find it a foul habit, and why should these people affect the air that I breathe???.
aren't "reformed" smokers just the worst kind of hypocrits going?
So when you were "affecting" the air other people breathed when you were a smoker that was different was it?0 -
Sorry, I cant afford an electric wheelchair, and as im 23 I have to try and keep some sort of physical health considering I cant walk more than a few steps - still doesnt mean I can bound over grass in an NHS wheelchair, and the whole kirb isnt lowered - only at corners so what u on about? U expect me to be able to bound down kirbs???
At the end of the day, ive to go out and spend money on an electric wheelchair to I can 'run' away from smokers? !!!! off! its my right to be in public and enjoy it as much as any smoker - tell me im wrong? Me being there doesnt upset or offend anyone, so why should smokers do that to me???
You can get an electric wheelchair from Motability with your mobility care portion of your money assuming you are getting DLA.
Its money that is given to you for mobility care so you are not actually paying out of your own money. Hope this helps.0 -
I've had a report that this thread is turning personal, as I don't have time to read the whole thing I've locked it and reported it to the abuse team for review
