no. No, no, no and a thousand times more no.

Why should the parent and son move? You're the smoker, you don't go there in the first place. Basic common sense and basic thought for others.

Your argument is akin to me randomly firing my shotgun in public without regard for other people and then blaming those i shoot for being in the way!

why should we not go there we are entitled to open spaces

    Here we go again.

Yes, but i don't get any choice. I get smoked around. I don't go out looking for smokers so as i can get close to them so as i can moan.

They don't "need" one. And smokers add to my stress.

I disgree completely. Being inconsiderate can be multifaceted. And again, what about my choice?

Where i live, the only smog is tobacco!

    again you forced us outside

    doesn't work.
    Example 1: Hospital entrances
example 2: The nia, as i discussed earlier

this just demonstrates how ignorant and inconsiderate many smokers are.

Or because they are unable to resist the chemical draw rather than because they "want" to?

excuse me do not try to tell us what we enjoy

how can they blow smoke in your face if smoking is banned in public places? ill tell you who you should want to sue. you should want to sue the government for letting smoking become legal in the first place. you should also not go into the designated smoking areas.

Amazing how much animosity there is around here and how increasingly sense and rationality is being replaced by statements like "cobblers" without backup or just with plain insults.

Yes I know, the truth is hard to bear

But we haven't reached any "truth". Just the same repetetive arguments with increasing aggression.

Neither do I with traffic, but life's full of inconsiderate polluters isn't it I guess your choice is to go to places where smokers AREN'T allowed

Different arguements. My perspective on traffic has been covered before. I can't be arsed repeating myself. So where can I go where smoking isn't allowed? Ah yes HOME. So, there's your answer. Force me into a reclusive state. Wonderful.

Thats a matter of your personal opinion, smokers say they "do", as you are neither, your not in a position to categorically KNOW.

No, it isn't my personal oppinion. That is the fact of how addictive mechanism works.

You dont NEED a car, you merely THINK you do. And drivers add to my stress, so do Bigots.

    Covered the traffic argument before.

I suppose technically we don't need electricity either.

BTW, I looked up "bigot". According to Wikipedia, it's

    - Obstinate? Check
    - Irrational? Not in the slightest. I'm maintaining rational answers here. Go read my posts.
    - Intolerantly? Maybe. I do indeed not tolerate smokers. But I'm all for live and let live
    - devoted to my... belief or oppinion... especially one who regards or treats those of differing devotion with hatred and intolerance? I'm not the one demonstrating hatred. And I'm not "devoted" to this topic. I have plenty else going on my life. This is just forum that I happen to frequent and one topic that's grabbed my interest.

I dont find a Nurse, Doctor, Lawyer or Judge, going outside of there premises for a cigarette during their break as being inconsiderate,

    In principle nor do I.

As for your choice, what about a Smokers, Moreso what about MINE???

Go back and read the thread all over again.

I could get you a full read up transcript of what SMOG actually is, I can tell you it is NOT smoking related, look it up.

OK, I may do that. But still, I live in a very rural area.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, whether or not they smoke. What your not entitled to, is to spout your drivel as Gospel, you are in no position to call anybody rude, without looking in the mirror.

Yeah, of course we're entitled to our oppinions, but don't confuse oppinion with fact. And with "drivel" we resort to insults again. Great. Mature. Where have I been rude, exactly?

    marleyboy wrote:
I find your accusations that 99% of ALL smokers are, rude and inconsiderate. Both RUDE and INCONSIDERATE.

OK. I understand that. I stand by it though. That's my personal experience. I encounter tragically few smokers who think of others.

    marleyboy wrote:
You must live in some bubble where NOBODY that you know smokes, and should any of your friends or relatives DARE smoke, you would cast them off like the rest of the filthy, ill mannered, inconsiderate and rude, smokers you have had the misfortune of "meeting".

Actually I live with my parents. My mother smokes.

    marleyboy wrote:
And I OBJECT to you calling my Mother Rude and Inconsiderate, because quite frankly, you don't even know her, what would you know?

Please point to where I said that. I'm not disputing that I said it, just that I suspect that you've taken it out of context.

    marleyboy wrote:
If you by chance KNOW a freind or a relative, who smokes, and you have not told them how rude you think they are, then you're a BIGOT!

Huh? Above I'm supposedly a bigot because I'm forthright. Now I'm a bigot because I'm not? Nope, you're beyond me.

    marleyboy wrote:
Nobody likes a BIGOT, whether or not they smoke.

    Completely agree.

Would you like to elaborate or actually give a rational argument? I could resort to replying in the same way, but that would get us even less far that we're already going.

I made no such rules regards outdoor smoking areas or otherwise. I just wanted to enjoy a smoke-free pint and chat.

I can tell you that smokers don't "enjoy" smoking. This a well established fact. It's all to do with chemical craving.
