  • OMG this is so the thread for me!!!

This past week i have had 2 huge spiders one ran across my living room floor and i spent an hour stood on a chair until i decided i couldnt see it and ran upstairs and waited for my friend to turn up in the morning and threw her the keys out the window so she could find it and get rid of it
The second was last night It took me about 20minutes to kill the one in my bedroom last night it was massive!!!!
when i went up to bed DD2 was asleep in my bed so i didnt turn the light on coz i didnt want to wake her, i got into bed and then i saw it it was that big i could see it as clear as day in the dark!!!!

i turned the light on and sat on the bed frozen, in 20 minutes it went from above the window to inside the window frame then to the left half way down the wall then back up again, theb behind the window frame again came back and then went right a good halfway round the room it then went down behind the suitcases and i lost sight of it for a good 5 mins next thing i knew it was sat next to me on the floor!!!! it then ran around my bed, not under it all the way around it!!! when it got to the corner furthest from me i grabbed one of my shoes and whacked it sooooooo hard i made myself jump!!!! i then sat on the bed for a good hour afterwards shaking!!!!!

I had the worst nights sleep ever i kept imaging it was going to come back to life and take its revenge :o

i did a bit of googling and found this http://www.spidatrap.com/Home/ but im guessing you actually have to remove them from the strip as the strips last for months apparently but i dont think id be brave enough to remove them :o

The little ones dont bother me so much unless they are on me or too close to me then thats another matter  otherwise i just leave them to get on with it!

I had always been told that they lived in hoovers so never hoovered them up either squashed them or got someone else to kill it for me, but my mate hoovered one up for me the other day and i have an electrolux pet lover so i could see it inside the hoover, it stayed alive for about 2 hours trying to get up the tube and then it gave up and died but it wasnt very big probably the size of a 20 pence piece so im not sure if the bigger ones would die or not

This is very strange. I think it must be the season for big spiders. This week my son pointed out a huge spider on the landing wall. He was there all day until my husband came home. He was one of the hugest I have seen, easily the circumference of a tin of baked beans.

My husband knocked him down then caught him in a see through plastic carton. When he looked at him and put his finger on the plastic we could see that the spider had his fangs raised ready to attack. It was quite frightening. My husband said that he would have to be careful or he would have him but he did manage to put him out on the lawn.

Last night I was watching tv and I caught a flash of some black movement in the corner of my vision. There was a massive spider on my arm running across the sleeve of my blouse. I screamed and jumped up and the spider fell and ran under the sofa, then it ran across the room and disappeared under the skirting board. I am therefore still looking out for it in there.
The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best

I would be terrified if one was on my arm  When I was babysitting once a spider ran across my foot. I had an asthma attack and the children had to call an ambulance, and their parents had to come home to look after them :o

Nah - that's not true - it's one of those urban myths.

If it was true, wouldn't at least someone have woken up during it and had remains of the spidah in their mouths? Or in the stomach contents that were found in an autopsy. Just doesn't happen. No, sireee - nope, not at all, not one bit!

    And I don't care what anyone says, I won't believe otherwise :p

Edit - I have just been divebombed by a bloody daddylonglegs (just as bad as spidahs!) at my mum's house. I think it's gone up my trouser leg......

    I know!

I hate those things with a passion - my late grandma used to pick them up and put them out of the window. I used to cringe in horror and wouldn't let her hug me!

I'm sure it didn't go up my jeans - I just have a vivid imagination :o
