    Make a bakewell in a bag :p

I enjoy baking, not very good at it though, my cakes tend to collapse in on themselves. I quite fancy making a cake except OH knocked my caster sugar out the cupboard and it smashed, so he broke my jar too.....I found weevils in my flour so had to start putting them in big jars, and I also found a beetle in my brown sugar, so that had to go in the bin....

Maybe if she keeps herself awake all day she'll sleep all through the night....fingers crossed!

(Sneakily approaches and ducks) I work from home on a Monday with LO. When I first went back I did Mondays and Wednesdays. I dont find it too bad with my job though. I just used to make sure that anything I did, I was able to do one handed with a baby on my knee....... Actually I get more done in a shorter time as have less interuptions from the boys at work..

BizzieBaby - I've been sent one of those fabric travel highchairs to test... cant remember what its called though....and I get to keep that... not quite a pushchair though!

That's great actually, 7 children all with straight teeth, I remember being at school and half the class had something wrong with their mouth!

Hey braces ARE cute, they are so geek chic.....

None of my siblings had braces either. I think one of my cousins did when growing up. I'm sure she did, but then I didn't see her much, so i'm not sure 100%

geek-chic, hmmmm. Not sure the girls would agree with you if the dentist told them they'd need them :o

right now I feel like sitting on the floor and crying - sobbing out "I want my mummy" :

MrsT - I think it is something about becoming a mum yourself that makes you appreciate/need your own mum more.

I'm guessing it doesn't work for Men. I've never had the desire to need either parent for parental advice or anything. Must be a maternal thing as opposed to paternal. In fact it made me do the opposite and go against my parents ideas of parenting.

  • Maz we got one of them... Koo-di harness or something like that... I'm just waiting for the questionnaire to fill out! Beware though, they aren't very colour-fast. I managed to die all Izzy's vests pink, even with a colour catcher in there!

    Woohoo.. Reasons to celebrate:

    1. Blood tests went well, Rhys "bled like a dream" (lurvely!) and we were so quick we didn't have to pay for the car parking!
    2. We saw old friends from the NeoNatal Unit in the car park - the LO who took a turn for the worse shortly before he was due home. So nice to see him doing well :D They're going to come round once he's a little better (still requires a fair bit of kit to be carried with him)
    3. THE BUILDERS HAVE GONE!! My house is my own at last! :D

Thats the one - Koo-di... Ooo thanks for the washing tip, not sure dying Henry's stuff pick would be very sensible. I'm just waiting for questionnaire too.

With regards to the home working discussion, I work part time from home ranging from 16-29 hours, dependant on how much they need me to do. Now in the work I do, if I fix a problem in less time than given for that device, then I still get paid the money as if I had done it in the allotted time, likewise if I take longer. No set hours, just get it done and do what else I need to do.

This means I get to be around the kids whilst working, often with some watching me. In non term time that is!

I appreciate this is not the same as having newborns/young children.

On the work front, my 16yo has to pop into the local shop tomorrow morning for an informal chat about a few hours work. I've told her not to expect anything and not to be disappointed if it doesn't go any further.
