Becles -- i have one of those hoolder things from the ceiling too for Katies cuddlies -- what have you attched it to though!?? I hung it over her curtain pole, but is too heavy with all the cuddlies in it...!!!
Craig screwed a hook into the ceiling. It looks like a huge cup hook! My idea was putting a hanging basket bracket at the top of the wall and hanging it from that. We'll do the ceiling hook isn't strong enough.
I got told off for using Huggies pure wipes in hospital. I got told you must only use cotton wool and water, but I didn't have any cotton wool with me. After arguing that I couldn't manage to magic cotton wool out of thin air, so I was going to continue using wipes, the dragon midwife returned with a single cotton wool ball. Yes, because that really goes a long way with those first tar like welded on poo's
I really hated that midwife and we fell out about loads of other stuff tooHere I go again on my own....0 -

The hospital midwives were not too bad actually at the JR - no-one said anything about using wipes etc, if you wanted help with anything they'd help you, if you wanted to BF they'd help you till the cows came home and if you wanted to bottle feed they'd ask if you were sure you didn't want to try and BF, if you said no they'd help with the formula without any more hasslign which I thought was good - they didn't try and guilt anyone into anything - be it cottonwool or BF lolDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! I too got told off for forgetting cotton wool. She didn't listen when I told her that it was an unplanned induction, and they wouldn't let me go home to pack. I think I can be forgiven for not having everything! She didn't give me any, I just had to use wipes while being tutted at! I didn't get on with her at all, she was the one who kept going on and on about how I must give him formula and how important it is to feed him. It was written in capital letters on my discharge notes that I was told the importants of feeding my baby, and that I must give him formula by the end of the day. She only let me out because I fibbed that he had a really good feed.
Ladybird, the list would be most welcome, help me focus. I keep thinking with my 'nursery nurse' hat on, and not my Mummy hat.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

works different for part timers in a bank and having Monday as your day off is best, as we get all bank holidays on top of our normal holidays, and those who have Monday as their day off, get a day off in liu of it, so extra holidays !!The two best things I have done with my life

Alice is supposed to be having her nap. I can hear her pretending to snore very loaudly.money_maker wrote: »Oh did any of you see this as a suggestion on the 1st birthday present thread?? I really like it ...anyone know where they sell the plasic bibs with the curved up trough at the bottom? We had some problems soon after the birth because my mum did things like encourage OH to come visiting with the baby by travelling across London on the tube when he was a month old, and "pressured us" into driving over to visit on a weekend when he was a couple of weeks old. These are old history, once it came out how much OH was bothered by it I told my mum off, we cut her off for a month while OH settled into routine, etc etc, and since then my mum has been following the rules we give her.
This recent exchange is because she asked if she could come visit on Wed or Thu, OH said no ("due to his bad sleep schedule at the moment"), so my mum wanted to arrange something for the following week before she goes away for a fortnight. She offered to babysit for an evening if that was better for us.
Would she consider something like meeting your mum at the park briefly so that it is less intense than coming round to your house? Or are there things at home she wants to get done where your mum could play with Elijah in the same room so that she is able to get on with something that she wouldn't be able to do if she was just on her own with Elijah? That way your mum would actually be a help but it wouldn't be so intense as a sit down visit and she would still be there so she wouldn't be leaving Elijah with her.Buttonmoons wrote: »It wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't bleeding 24/7, though a mooncup does seem ideal, only thing is I have quite strong pelvic floors, so when I pee, the muscles push the tampon out (it doesnt fall out!!) every time, so basically every time i go to the loo I have to put a new one in. Would the mooncup fall out too? Don't fancy fishing it out of the bog, esp if it was a public loo, EWWWW.feelinggood wrote: »Warning, mega post alert. Sorry to anyone I've missed out.

Shame I still have to pay for nursey on the BHs really, although seeing as I get paid for them it doesn't matter too much!
Feelie, I will PM you in a sec. Oh, re feeding him - you could try a doidy cup? (Or just a little plastc pot? Izzy is just as happy drinking from little tommee tippee food pots, which are slightly bigger than shot glasses!)Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

what a bunch of smelly MWs, Feelie I would have pointed out to her that whilst not ideal a baby can survive without food for the first few days of their life with no ill effects and then gone
at her!
At wigan we were provided with a little bowl for the water and an endless supply of cotton wool, nappies and mat pads :T one MW spotted me using a wipe and had a word with me though. so I just used the cotton wool while there but wipes once home.
With Ed I used CW & W for the first month or so - I don't know why though it was only when hubby reminded me I had stockpiled a million wipes that maybe I should start using them :rotfl:0
