Yay, sounds like progress :TAre you keeping notes for MFD? I love your summing up posts, so clear and to the point.
I'll have to keep notes - I can usually do it from memory for a few days but not a week or more! :eek:Shopping is here, yaty

WOW feelie! were you a bit bored lol
Lu has been on facebook over the weekend, wondering how much she'd get for a baby on ebay :rotfl:
I noticed sparkle has been AWOL for a bit too
I'm feeling OK as in not fab not crap, hubby is off to belfast this afternoon until thursday, then scotland on friday so I'm alone with the boys pretty much 24/7 this week. we're hoping to go away for a few days on oct or nov so hopefully if we'll get our spark back while away if it doesn't come before
I hope the CM is nice!0 -
here we go - ive finally managed to capture 1/2 hour to myself to catch up (mind you, the cleaning has been delayed!!)....
Happy belated Birthday mfd!
How is Fergies bottom weezl!??
Hugs for Sami and Feelie and Fritha
Sami - im with redmel in the bit about "just doing it" - a nice warm bath, hair done, nice underwear and pjs on all helped me to get going at first.
Well done to Elijah for shoes and swimming
Well done to Chris for new food eating
Hooray for Glam and Jack back home!!
Becles -- i have one of those hoolder things from the ceiling too for Katies cuddlies -- what have you attched it to though!?? I hung it over her curtain pole, but is too heavy with all the cuddlies in it...!!!
Bruno - i know it must be crazily hard for you to understand your OHs thinkging at the minute, but i think you are doing an AMAZING job. I dont have any advice or anything, but on my own experience, when we had Katie (first child) i reckon looking back i did have a touch of PND, but when OH suggested it, iwent off into one and denied it, and that kinda made me more detemined to NOT have it, IFSWIM?? So then i wouldnt talk to HV/GP or even my family or friends, cos it was in my thinking that if if had PND i was a terrible mother....ridiculous i know, but thats wat i thought.
Hope you get something sorted out!
Hi workingmummy!!! congratulations on the birth of Alex!!!
i run out of multiquots and forgot anythig else i stored in my brain, hope i didnt miss anyone important!???Carla-Farla!!

Would you be ok with lying to him? maybe you could say you went on an adventure and wrestled a crocodile  Kids are very matter of fact though, Chris just accepts when I told him Ed needed injections that would make him cry last week and just accepted that Ed was in mummy's tummy and now isn't0 -
Jack and I are home again (he had to go back in on Saturday) - fortunatley his jaundice wasn't bad enough to need phototherapy and he is now feeding brillantly. I was cup feeding him but he takes a bottle so much better - can express a small amount from breasts but not enough for my little man!!
time for some newbie questions
changing
when it's just wet do u just change the nappy or use cotton wool like you do with a poo? This is what i'm doing now.
I'm very bad and use wipesBut for teh first couple of weeks I did use cotton wool and yes, a wee wipe with the wet cotton wool is what I did (nappy rash is caused by urine reacting with faeces) and I don't change it unless it is very wet, she only actually gets changed 7am, 5pm and 11pm, I don't see the point in wasting a nappy when it's barely wet, it doesn't do any harm.
sterilising
i have the TT CTN electric steriliser - I sterilise before each bottle (obviously) but say I'm going out and need to take a bootle. Do I sterilise bottle and take a carton of formula? or do I need to try and sterilise when out
I use powder so I boil the kettle and fill it up it up when it's hot and keep it in that handy thermal bit of the boots changing bag, stays red hot for 3 hours that I know of, powder in a dispenser. Otherwise just take it out the steriliser and seal it up.
breast pump
anyone got the TT CTN manual pump?
tried to use it last night I can get the milk into the ribbed bit put it won't go thru the valve into the bottle. Not sure if it's because i can only manage to express 2 or 3 ml at a time or if I'm doing something wrong.
Get yourself a medela harmony if you want a hand pump, £25 boots it is so much better than the TT one. Massage your boobs before expresing too. And pump slowly, I find I get more that way (I get a whole 1 oz from both sides  with the TT I get nothing exceot very sore boobs)
massive thanks to Sami, MM, Elle, NMS & Krystal - u r all angels :A
And hiya, hows your sugars?? :rotfl:
Is that what the tongs are for, putting bottles together?? Yeah I don't do that...
Feely, nope, Amber is pink coloured now!:D:D

MrsT - Yep, easy digest does cause more wind - Liam trumps like a trooper!0 -

I never did it in the first place - even with Rhys being a bit delicate, OH was determined we weren't going to protect him from every germ. As long as we're doing it all with clean (just washed was Carex AntiBac stylee) hands, that's good enough for us
Rhys is lying on the floor making lots of noise - mostly donkey eeee-ooorrr kinda sounds! He's been smiling lots today for a change (usually it's only when he's sleepy) and I think I caught him attempting to laugh again too

Congratulations Glaz! Everyone has answered your questions already, but I will be ready for the next lotfeelinggood wrote: »The 12th call was the lucky one! She can do a few hours once a week, off to meet her on Thursday night. She sounds lovely and is within walking distance. Now to compose a list of questions and work out how to get Toby fed if I decide she is good enough to look after him.
Feelie I have the list of questions I asked nurseries if you want me to PM them over? probably not all relevant for a CM, and some of them are relevant to Izzy, but probably not to Toby IYSWIM, but it might help?
and yes you are doing the right thing
Our settling in session was fun. Today was for Izzy to play while I went through paperwork/questions (I keep thinking of extra "tired" signals I didn't mention and whatnot, but never mind, as long as I remember to say tomorrow!) it turns out that for the time being she will be the only baby on Mondays, so she will get to go in with the slightly older ones until she has a friend to join in with. I suppose lots of part time people get out of working MondaysNot a disaster though - they were all very interested in her and she in them
(Wednesdays there will be 5 of them in the baby room - it is quite a small nursery!)
Tomorrow and Wednesday we go back again and this time I stay with her for 15 mins or so, then go off upstairs for a cup of tea. Am going to take the laptop and get on with job application forms while I'm there. Then 9I think) the same again wednesday. Then Next week she starts properly, and the week after I'm back to work. Eeeep!
That means I only have a week to get lables ironed onto everything. I wonder if I can still remember how the iron works? :rotfl:Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009
