Alexandra is currently in bed with daddy - mummy got dragged up at 6:15 with demands for boobies so fed the monster and tried to drop off again but brain had woken up by then boo hiss.
So have come downstairs to get a little tidying done and a few minuters of peace and quiet :)
Might go and back some muffins in a minute - fresh lemon ones for breakfast lol - this time with lemon drizzle yumyumyum
Oh well - at least the monster slept through from 9:30 till 6:15 :) not bad me thinks! Glad she's returned to sleeping through as I wasn't coping well with the middle of the night wake up calls
Last 2 nights we've put her down awake and apart from one re-insertion of dummy and re-application of Raffi last night then she's just seen her self off to sleep :j :j :j

Turns out neither LO nor his mum knew how to peel it, so OH had to show him (turned it into a game for LO then noticed the look of relief on his mum's face halfway through) and then LO demolished it like he'd not eaten for a month and just beamed at OH. His parents were on the floor in shock!
:eek: That is so sad - some children just don't have a decent chance in life do they.
LOL - SIL just turned 40 last week and her GD is 5 weeks. She settled on Nanny Jayne (needing the Jayne bit!)

I love giving Chris salad in public places :p If some sees/hears me offering him some lettuce you can see them thinking "as if a toddler would want lettuce" only for him to go "ooh yes fanx" (I'm still working on his th's) :D Their face's are usually a picture lol
:rotfl: I don't like lettuce so I usually give Alice most of mine. If there's some left on my plate at the end, she starts shouting, "More lettuce, more lettuce."

*yawn* brrrrrr 'someone' forgot to flick the heating on to timed before bed so we've woken up to a rather chilly house, Ed really wants his morning wriggle and bash on the play gym but I can't put him on the floor because its like ice!

I can't decide what coat/s I need to pack for Chris as he's off to Hull in a bit to visit his Auntie Jules, I'm leaning towards his winter coat after checking the weather and seeing its as i expected even colder over yonder.

He slept from 6pm last night until 7:15ish this morning, I say ish because when he came to wake me up he'd obviously been up a bit first as he wasn't wearing his PJs anymore:rolleyes:

Same as Sami we just had a hand blender from Tesco that cost about £4 and worked perfectly well for weaning.

LO will eat vegetables, loves grapes, apples and bananas, however not a fan of salad. Apparently they had chicken and salad at nursery on Thursday and he wouldnt eat any of it but then proceeded to demolish carrot and cucumber sticks plus melon at tea time there ( he wont eat any of that at home mind).
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.

I got a free sample of Pringle Extreme in the post today, I got the flamin chilli sauce flavor, they are living up to their name, steam is coming out of my ears.

We bought some of them but thought they were too mild :o Charlotte liked them though.
I often order aimee a side salad when we're out, does my nut when childrens menus contain nothing but yellow food and beans...

That drives me up the wall too. Usually everything is portion controlled so they won't do a small portion of an adult dish either. We normally end up ordering a starter for Charlottes main course.

I loved Turkey as nothing was ever too much trouble in restaurants. We'd pick a meal off the adult menu for her, and they were happy to cook a small portion. The only downside is they love desserts, so she'd normally get a free huge ice cream or cake afterwards!

Cold here too Sami. I've still got the really thin duvet on the bed, but ended up putting a fleece blanket over it last night. Going to get the thicker duvet back out when I change the bed on Monday. Trying to resist putting the heating on and I'm wrapped up in a huge fleece dressing gown at the moment.
Here I go again on my own....

    hi weezl,

thanks for thinking of me :p, you have been in my thoughts too :D

i think where i struggle the most is with family, i feel extremely guilty being over here now that i have a baby. although i did feel guilty before, it is worse now.

okay, going to stop there as getting a bit choked.

thanks again for thinking of me weezl... i was very touched.

awww AF, sorry that thinking about it made you feel choked. I keep wanting to find things like vegemite and make you up a hamper of back home flavours! But from what you said, that wouldn't really cut it. Having babies definately makes some of us miss/need/appreciate our mums more and I found losing my grannie just before Fergus came really tough. So I think I can see a little of what you're going through. Can't really say anything constructive so may I offer a hug (((((((()))))))))?!
You have such a fantastic way with words :D Hope we're making you happy hun ((Hugs))

Thanks Krystal:Axxxx, yes, it does make me happy coming on here. Oddly I feel more part of a community or gang here than I ever have, although I have lovely friends, it's not like a big happy bunch.

My favourite thing is that we are all very different, but I don't feel that our different parenting styles divide us :)

Well I'm guess ur OH is going south, he's stuck in traffic caused by silly rubber neckers  but at least his side is still open, the race is on though :D If all else fails Weezl do you still have those Jaffa cakes? maybe I can send OH & his lacky to you for the night he's probably not even reached the bridge across yet :p

    *rushes out to check doorstep*

Oh boo, no handsome visitor here to raid my jaffa cakes :( maybe next time! :rotfl:

newbies: I think SB has it spot on in saying that maybe sometimes we're doing a mammoth catch up and think that someone else will already have answered a question. Also I think we have our resident experts on different topics, and sometimes wait for that person to come on and give us their wisdom! Hiya SB:beer::D

A question: fergie has dropped his dream feed now, just clamps his lips tight shut and refuses! This is fine, but does mean he's woken by hunger pretty early. We were wondering about introducing a milk drink just before bed, but have never done this before in case he possets on his back and chokes a bit. Lots of children of 2-3ish seem to have a bedtime milky drink, so does anyone know if it becomes safe after a certain age?

bruno, I was thinking a bit more about your oh last night. A couple of thoughts, hope they're maybe of some use. When I felt quite frazzled, hormonal and tired, DH took 2 annual leave days creatively to come home 1 hr 45 mins early for a fortnight. It meant he was back at 3.30 and missed the traffic. I had a fortnight of afternoon naps, lovely :) Just wondered if there was a way you could do anything like that, which doesn't eat too much into your leave, but which gives OH a nap in the day?

thought number 2: Your OH, like a few of us on here, obviously has really high standards for her own achievements (I remember that cake- she's obviously a bit of a Nigella!) and it's been helpful for us to be around people like savvy sue who give a message of 'you're doing a grand job' and 'your best is good enough'. Just wondered if OH has this from anyone? Other than you I mean- sadly sometimes we don't listen to our menfolk!

And finally, and then I will butt out I promise :):o. Eating well. Not sure what made this pop into my mind, but sometimes after an initial mild bit of PND, it goes away, but can slightly come back if the woman isn't so well nourished. I wonder if she gets time for healthy snacks in the day with Elijah? Or has she perhaps tried to diet and might be needing a bit more iron or something?

And that really is now the end of my massive post :)

    Love to you all,

    Weezl xxx

In London it's bright warm sun through the windows at the moment, we slept with the windows open!

Yay on Chris's good sleep - but how was Ed's? :p

All of mine have had a warm milk at bedtime - I never knew it wasn't safe :o

It's always been bath, jarmies, story and warm milk then bed. With the boys, I dropped the milk when they started going to bed with no nappy on (for obvious reasons!) and plan on doing the same with Charlotte.

Does he usually posset after a feed?
I've always fed both boys just before bed and never had problems, if they have brought a bit back I've usually only known because they have it dried on their check when I check on them/they wake up later.
I've managed to forget how old Fergie is while typing but if he is 'eating' now you could try a spot of porridge instead

he'll be 6 months next week, we have tried some solids, but I'm not sure that in the small gap between finishing his milk-bit of banana-milk dinner which usually takes from 5.45-6.30 that we'd have time to fit in more solids before bed at 7!!!

Maybe this is why MFD and Mel are moving bedtime backwards :)

Yes, always sick after every feed. Is that not the norm? We do get good burps out of him :)
