Ah fun fun fun - first signs of the merger between Tiscali and Talktalk - as of middle of sept I'll be a talktalk employee but i'm free to object to this - which btw will be taken as an automatic resignation... so... not that free then
Should be interesting though... no idea if our team will be shut down, merged, split up etc... we're a little unique in that we're not accountmanagers - because we have nothing to do with sales etc, we're not really service managers either... we're partner ops managers and our primary function is making things run smoothly and making sure we retain the customers business. Both with us and their customers with them by helping them help their customers etc... not something I think Talktalk offer at the moment... oh well... this should be fun then(crossing fingers that if DH gets offered the US job it co-incides with being made redundant from Talktalk! LOL) If I did I'd get 12 months of 85% of my salary from my insurances, one of my cards paid off (£4k) and whatever they decided to pay me

Glam, also whilst you're all talking about it, have you mentioned some women are told to not even attempt handexpressing (prebirth)? Make sure everyone knows to check with their midwife first.. I think it's the ones with placenta problems who shouldn't try it, but always best to ask (and then ask again!)0

She also said to wet comb his hair once a week when he starts nursery to prevent headlice so I'll get my 'script request for a nitty gritty next time I'm at the docs so I don't forget
how does this 'prevent' headliceI'm confuzzled?
elle - I really recommend the bouncy chair. Don't be fooled into an expensive one though. The more simple the better IMHO.
Thanks for all your kind words and things. I'm feeling a bit more together now. I have written down my thoughts andd feelings and sent them via email (find that easier to say what I mean IYKWIM) and had a good reply - he hadn't really been hearing me and I think what I said hit home. He's also decided to do a half day so we can be together this afternoona dn properly talk things through. A good thing I think (although I was lookign forward to seeing my friend this afternoon :rotfl:- but this is more important and she'll understand!)
I've partly made a rod for my own back the way I've done everything in the past and worried what will be expected of me in the future (I want to be a SAHM) so it's good if we can sort through things.
and Bruno I love your.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Galm, what Elle said, you don't have a 'set' amount of colostrum, it's all hormone controlled.0

Thankyou. It is actually very simple, not even vibrating or musical, just nice lookingWell, I think it is - noone agreed with me on the crib so maybe I just have funny tastes!

Aww that's goodHope you get a good chat. Back it up with a nice family play time and it might ram it home to him how lovely things can be if he pulled his weight too and Mummy was a little less stressed
Just remember, being a SAHM still doesn't mean you have to do everything in the houseIt's still a full time job just as much as hubby going out to work is, so don't say you'll do everything and end up burning yourself out. Tell him he's still expected to do some jobs around the house - like I don't do bins (and can't work out how the nappy bin works anyway!) so that's OH's job.. that way I don't get any sarky comments when he comes in and the bin is full - cos it's his job

hi guys!!
Glam what you doing over here?? lol!!
right.... yesterday my mw said that due to my continuos BP problems its 99% that i will have to have an epidural for delivery and will need a lots of monitoring when i go into labour (if i;m not being induced)...so i was wondering if anyone here who has had an epidural can give me an indicationof what to expect- before, during and after delivery. am trying not to google as you always get 'worst case scenarios' and i have had enough of them lol!!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
sounds like a great bouncy chair. My SIL gave me lots of funny looks when I asked her to buy us the cheapest bouncy chair because it was 'old fashioned'
It was just luck that it was the cheapest, but she felt stingy buying us one that didn't have every gadget possible on it.....I got my way though and I think that's why we got so much use out of it.
elle - I think you are in a similar position to me regarding the possibility of other children in the future....are you planning on keeping everything?r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
This mornings row was set off by DH complaining he didn't have an ironed shirt, that the washing 'smelled' (how I'm not sure as it hadn't been left sitting in the machine) and telling me that I need to get used to just having a nightime sleep and stop sleeping when baby sleeps.
I'm sure things will get better for you. It's a stressful time for everyone. I've got to remember that although the OH has no idea what it's like to have to look after the baby 24 hours a day and have next to no adult company or anyone to talk to and no sleep, he is finding it hard too when the baby wakes him up for a moment before I whisk him out of the room at night.(when i started writing that it wasn't going to sound that sarcastic but I can't help myself lately)

how does this 'prevent' headlice

1 or 2 lice hop on to Chris's head from Child x and lay eggs (nits) they hatch and then he has lice (yuk!) which require chemical treatment
but if doing weekly wet combing it would go...
1 or 2 lice hop on to Chris's head from Child x and lay eggs (nits) Mummy wet combs Chris's hair therefore removing the nits so they don't hatch on his head - et voila no lice for Chris
I know some people think that nits are lice but they're notnits are the eggs and lice are the creatures http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/childhealth6-15/Pages/Nits.aspx
anyone else feeling itchy now?0
