more to the point why does the woman on the next stall always wave back at him

And nobody ever walks over to him, throws their money belt at him and runs off to stop their boyfriend telling their husband about their affair... or is that Eastenders?

Tia if it's a newer car then take it in - it will invalidate the warrenty... if it's an older car - take it to another garage lol Normally I have a mechanic I use but as this is a new car I wanted to make sure all the warrenties etc were good and what have you so let the dealership do the service... I knew I should have gone to my usual guy *sigh* I trust Steve (my mechanic) implicitly and if there is a problem I know he'll explain in detail why and what and so on... Instead I get a phone monkey who doesn't have a clue about mechanics trying to tell me I know nothing about engines (bet I've stripped and rebuilt more of them than he has!) and then tried the same with hubby who's an ex HGV mechanic... wasn't a good move I can promise you! So we're going in to speak to the sales manager and the service manager - and there better be a happy ending to this or they're in for one heck of a ride...

ETA - they have just called again to say they are sending the full diagnostics to Germany for the factory to look at them to check everything is ok - doesn't get round the mis-selling point but certainly it's an improvement on the lack of any assistance or recognition that there might be an issue here...

aaaargh freecycle annoys me so much!!
on my local one, people ask for the same thing every day - a couple of requests for fridges/freezers, washing machines, beds etc, but just lately its a joke, someone has posted asking for a flat screen tv and someone else asked for a xbox yesterday!
I don't read the wanted ads - I have filters which put them into a particular folder and I just scan through in case a non-freecycle e-mail has been filtered by mistake and then delete them. Only time I look is if I have something to offer and then I check to see if there's a wanted before I do an offer.

We have a Bumbo! Whoop whoop! :D
Is it wrong that I want to wake up Alexandra to try it out?

I sneakily removed a bumbo off the shelf at John Lewis last week and put Leila in it! She looked so small and lost in it but then again she is only 10 weeks and quite little (but long!).

MrsT, we will get around to it, it was serviced 2 weeks before I went in for my section and I wasn't able to drive so the car was more or less unused. Our neighbour borrowed it last week and DH has it today so I can have his as I can drive his right now easily. It needs a ball bearing on the front drivers side suspension so will be going back in in a few weeks (got raod tax for hubbies car first) and will hopefully get sorted then.

What you planning on doing about the mis-sale? You happy with what you have got or are you after a partial refund?

Re Bumbos, I'm probably going to get one for Amber but I can't stop thinking about what DS2's physio said about them, that they are good and bad. Good for giving baby independance but bad as they can delay normal sitting. So I guess they are good so long as baby gets plenty of time to try sitting up on their own? Also I had 6 brand new ones in my house a few years ago... Bumbo donated them to plagiocephaly care :D I <3 Bumbo

now my LO can sit by herself she isn't interested in her bumbo. I'm not sure whether to sell it on or to keep it. Although I'm not planning another for a long time (if at all) I can't bring myself to part with things!

Lo finally went for her afternoon sleep so I managed to grab some food and I am having some me time on the 'puter.

I've spoken to a few medics about the swiftness of consent for crash sections. They are usually very ethical people, who've struggled with how little you can say, because every second counts. They mostly seem to err on the side of, 'I tried not to throw you or worry you or provoke more discussion at a time when you just needed me to act, and darned quickly'.

I think it's a shame it's like this, but I kind of understand where they are coming from. If my recommendation for those extra NICE guidelines is taken up, maybe I'll say more about consenting for crash sections!:D (any member of the public can make suggestions to the NICE committee, I'm not secretly in charge of the NHS or anything :)

Incidentally elle, I think that if you want to, there are ways of being clearer about whether the VP could recur in a subsequent pregnancy. My understanding is that some of the triggers are things which just as easily can happen to Jane up the road who's never had it before in her second pregnancy, and other triggers are to do with things which are true of second pregnancies as well. But you would be able to work that out and weigh up the relative risks yourself.

I hope I haven't overstepped a line in saying that to you. I just want you to have as many facts as you need and want to be able to make your decision. I offer you these thoughts gently, and with lots of love and respect.:o

MM, have you been offered any further explanations and chats by the hospital? I know that in some trusts a woman who has a previous traumatic birth is entitled to review her notes with a consultant available to answer questions. However you may be happy doing your own research. ;)

The poor doc trying to explain the consent form to me was telling me thatI'd have to have a section if we had another child and I'm thinking, "I'm having this one cos of scar pain (i.e. possible rupture), having a 3rd in a few years time is not a reason to say no!"
Made some tentative steps towards making a Mummy friend today. She is a lady I chat to on another website, who has a baby a little younger than Toby. She is weaning, and I have a baby/toddler nutrition book that I dropped off for her. Didn't speak to her as she isn't well today, but I know where she lives now and will try and meet up. She is quite young, but seems nice, and it'll be interesting to see if I get on with her. All the NCT ladies are 30+.

I vacuumed today, and put things in the bin (outside!) by myself. All good things! Doctors and clinic on Tuesday, and maybe a coffee afterwards.

Good for you Feelie. Sounds like you're doing well. (I'm 30, do I not count as potential friend material?!)

Are we all doing the school run now?

*watches tumbleweed before deciding to go get her own first born child from school*

Probably take ages to walk down with DS2 anyway and the buggy boards don't fit onto our pram (I did tell DH that and the woman in Mothercare but still we spent 30mins waiting while she tried and looked it up):rotfl:
