They range in greeness, some are just yellow, but very frothy and woe betide anyone in range if she does it when her nappy's off, yuk!Too many children, too little time!!!0

Feely I personally don't think when kids are weaned affects them in that way, I mean back when most babies were weaned at 3mths there were still fat and thin kids
My mum is fat but her brother is slim, they were brought up the same.
I will say that I grew up with free access to sweets, choc and crisps nothing was ever demonised and I've always had a healthy view of what to eat BUT I also grew up with a mum that yo-yo dieted and constantly talked about being fat and disgusting, she often told us to never let ourselves get like her, which has resulted in me being torn. I look at my mum and feel disgust at her size which upsets me because she's my mum and I love her. It took me a long time to get over the fact I was a size 12 after having Chris, I was actually a totally normal, healthy weight but I felt fat and disgusting for ages.
I think the best thing you can do is both try to be as healthy as possible and try to not to use words like fat around Toby, I try to tell Chris that it's not healthy to eat choc all the time and if he wasn't healthy he'd find it hard to play IYSWIM so Choc is a special treat (don't get me wrong he eats plenty of the stuff) but fruit is a much healthier food he can eat much more of it and more often.
Hope that all makes sense!
I grew up on a really unhealthy diet.......cupboards were jammed full of chocolate/swwets/puddings/bottles of pop and the frezzer always had a million varieyies of ice cream.ice lollies...and to make matters worse we were freely allowed to eat as much of the crap as we liked, till we felt sick if we wanted:eek: I am overweight and have often crave junk food...both my brothers do too, but my sister doesn't
I give Kai jars sometimes, although usually 'try' to give him the home-made ones that I keep in the freezer. It doesn't really bother me giving him jars or giving the kids crisps/choc. BUT they are NEVER allowed to help themselves and I stress that it is not food it is treats. The fruit bowl is always full and is the only food they are allowed as much as they want of (although they still have to ask, in case we are about to eat lunch/dinner or something)
I run a pretty tight ship when it comes to food and the kitchen...even dh asks if he 'allowed' to take something:o
Right so shopping in and put away, I got some hob nobs so won't bother making any shortbread today. I took pg test, was negative...which makes me feel:(:) So after that I got straight on to uni, who haven't got round to looking at my app yet, but are snowed under so understandable I 'should' hear back in next day or two.......
Off to get school shoes soon, then just lunch boxes t buy and they are set, I really can't believe how quick these hols have gone, I don't want them to end:rolleyes:Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

eta: just saw sami's post and I really agree, we're going to try to limit any negative self-talk so fergus doesn't pick up on it. We're starting now to get into good habits!0

Well done Mrs T. X
Sami, Maddy has every symptom on the list, and it says that cutting down on my dairy will make no difference. I just have to make sure she doesn't have very much foremilk so I'm expressing a little first then feeding from the same side for a couple of feeds. Will look into it more when we get back on Friday.
Happy Birthday Tara.....If the symptoms continue it would be wise to visit the doc, you can get lactose free formula free on prescription;)Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

A random thing I found out yesterday, I've got to avoid caffeine to help my nipples! It isn't good for vasoconstriction.
Things I found out... Cut out all caffeine and as many sweets and fatty foods (cheese and stuff) as you can, take your asprin every day, up your fruit and veg, light exercise when you can but not too much walking thats about it... Losing weight... well I was heavier before this pregnancy than the other two so can't comment on that. Think I've proved the rule that your more likely to get it carrying a boy than a girl! :rotfl: And remember there are far more people who DON'T get it in subsequent pregnancies than those who do.
Happy Birthday Bruno and Tara! Have a great day both of you!!!!0 -
Happy birthday Tara and Bruno!
I have a sleepy baby today, who is is no mood to get up and just wants to eat and sleep. Pity I can't do the same!
It was me and hubbys official 1st wedding anniversary yesterday
(We have really been married nearly 8 years as we eloped to Ireland and married when we were young! As we never told anybody as I left it too long and thought it would hurt them too much, we then had to do a the big white wedding last year and had to find a 'registrar' who would do the ceremony without the legalities so no-one need ever know)
We had a lovely day, with a stroll in the park with Leila and dinner at La Tasca.
I dont want to talk about weaning (but like to hear everyones else talking about it), simply because I am pretty sure that Leila will have quite a few jars and not much home made stuff. The simple fact is that I cant cook (and I mean can't not won't) so hubby makes a stew once a week and we eat the same thing all week. Otherwise it's take aways or a pre-roasted chicken from waitrose. I am going to try to make a concerted effort to change our terrible eating habits and do some more reading up on weaning for my little girl's sake but in the meantime if she has to have a few jars then i'd rather that than junk food. So the more pointers you lot can give me the better.
Now confession time is over, i'm going to hover over my little girl and watch her sleep for a while!!Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0 -
Happy Birthday Bruno, it's mine today too, but as is usual here you wouldn't know it. I've had the birthday cry in the bathroom and then the rant at OH when I remind him at all the things we did for him on his birthday so now I just get on with a normal day, OMG I sound so sorry for myself!!!
Happy Birthday Tara! There's still time for things to get better!
Cheekthanks all for birthday wishes!

Food attitudes is a strange one. My Dad can eat 3 huge portions at dinner time, then have 6 packets of crisps, 3 chocolate bars and some boiled sweets every night (breakfast and lunch are just as huge) and not put on a pound. When he broke his leg he was virtually housebound for 6 months, didn't cut down on what he was eating and gained no weight at all!
My Mum has only ever been skinny when she starves herself. When she eats a normal diet she is not huge, but has a big tummy. I've always had a big tummy and am now a 16. When I was a teenager I was a 12/14 even when starving myself. So I figure it's better to be happy and pudgy than miserable and skinny
The boys probably do get too much sweets and used as bribes which makes it worse, but having the GD has made me much more aware of what a healthy diet and food attitude actually is and knowing that I may end up with diabetes later on has made me change what I feed the family. I'm buying a lot less sweets now than I used to and offering more healthy snacks as well as putting a wider range of food on dinner plates.
(says she as she stuffs her face with a cheese toastie and looks ta the baby weight loss thread):rotfl:0 -
