When I was little, my four cousins weren't allowed anything like sweets/chocolate/crisps. They lived away from us, but when they came to visit, they'd raid the goodie cupboard at Nans house like a pack of caged animals! :rotfl: Funnily enough, all four of them have weight problems now they're adults!

We were like this, and I've maintained a no sweets approach, but my brother went the other way! I do remember being in kiddie heaven when we went to friends houses and there was ribena and choccie biscuits! :o:D
    A bit more about weaning/eating.

I'm really worried about Toby developing unhealthy eating habits, he hasn't really got any good role models! I've struggled with bulimia/compulsive overeating disorder, and OH is very slim, but eats very oddly - which is why we have dinner at 9pm or later. He won't eat if stress, and can go a couple of days without eating.

My Mum wonders what effect early weaning and what we ate had an effect. Bro was weaned at 6 months, and had first taste of chocolate at primary school! Of course, him being a kind brother thought he should introduce his baby sister to chocolate, so I first got it at a very early age. He is the slim one, with quite normal eating habits.

Got to try and figure out a way to get Toby to have a healthy and normal attitude to food.

Feely, DH and I talk about this too, a lot of my family are kind of short and stocky and overweight, whereas DH's family are long and lean. DH needs sweet things all the time or he drops too much weight. Our concern is that fergie will pick up DH's food patterns, but have my family's metabolism! Our current plan is that we will have cakes as a rarish treat together after a meal, with the understanding that after fergus is in bed, daddy can pig out if he needs to! :)

weezl - We are off to a friends wedding near Manchester at the weekend. Is it bad to be looking forward to it so much:o I can't wait until it's just me and DH again for once. Sometimes it;s hard to remember how LO ever got here;)

r.mac have a lovely time:j:j:j:j, I hope you and DH get lots of chances to remember how LO came along! ;)

I'm seeing two pals today seperately, both of whom are really struggling, and we were up quite a few times in the night, so I'm just hoping I've got the resources to be a good friend, rather than dropping off while they say something important!:o

Elle, I completely get what you said last night and thanks for understanding what I was trying to say :). A final thought, I'm always up in the future for doing any research you might find useful. I enjoy it and it would be a priviledge.

Money maker, same goes for you, I shall see what I come up with about what you said :)

Have a great day all xxx

eta: just saw sami's post and I really agree, we're going to try to limit any negative self-talk so fergus doesn't pick up on it. We're starting now to get into good habits!

Weezl, you can always look into what I can do to lower my risk of pre-eclampsia next time round! I know the obvious, just wondered if there was anything else to know. A random thing I found out yesterday, I've got to avoid caffeine to help my nipples! It isn't good for vasoconstriction.

Guess I'm a bad mummy because I give Keira packets of crisps and some sweeties sometimes. If we are all having a piece of chocolate it's a bit mean not to give her any, she is 3 1/2 so not daft, and you can't eat in secret in this house.

Oh and she didn't go to bed until 3am last night  No idea why that was, but she is now super tired today.

My mum has just came down, she got back from Doncaster, and bought Keira some sort of BRATZ toy? Those dolls are effing ugly, lollypop heads. I may just accidentally have to stand on it and WHOOPS it broke.

    Well done Mrs T. X

Sami, Maddy has every symptom on the list, and it says that cutting down on my dairy will make no difference. I just have to make sure she doesn't have very much foremilk so I'm expressing a little first then feeding from the same side for a couple of feeds. Will look into it more when we get back on Friday.

Happy Birthday Bruno, it's mine today too, but as is usual here you wouldn't know it. I've had the birthday cry in the bathroom and then the rant at OH when I remind him at all the things we did for him on his birthday so now I just get on with a normal day, OMG I sound so sorry for myself!!!
Too many children, too little time!!!

So we will be into 9-12m at 5 1/2 months - will this boy ever stop growing??

    Hugs to all

Rhys is having a very smiley day today. We've both had a nap so mummy feels more human again :D Rhys was whinging in his crib, then went quiet.. I ran over thinking something was terribly wrong and found he'd just instantly gone to sleep! Picked him up after I'd had a bit of a nap and he lay on my chest for the next half an hour dozing, letting out a little laugh, doing huge smiles then dozing off again! :D

Oo I hate feeling too old for birthdays! Not only do I have to work, and I'm not doing anything celebratory, and then managed to walk 15 minutes to the station this morning before realising I'd forgotten my wallet and walking 15 minutes back up the hill... then back down... very sweaty at the office now :| bah.
Is that your sneaky way of saying you want some fuss?
