Sorry, disappeared to play at being a housewife (I'd never make it as a real one!) and was making OH's lunch and tidying the kitchen..

Do you think Maddy has lactose overload, tara?

OH and Rhys have been asleep for over 3.5hours now.. I'm guessing OH doesn't realise that the longer he stays asleep the more he's going to have to do when Rhys won't settle at 4am! ;) I've got his bottle ready cos they've stirred several times but keep going off again..

Another cuppa for me then! :D Night night to anyone who's left! xx

    *whimpers*

Husband has to be in the office all today and is then going to his second job straight from there. He'll be home around 1:30am - just me and the monster till then. And the cat. I was on night duty too, so I'm super tired.

First I am going to make a To Do list. It will probably not have a lot of stuff on it. Then I am going to do the stuff on it. And then I am going to hope that the end coincides with her sleeping so I can nap too.

    Morning

Yay, the little monkey slept until 7.08:T I tell you what, that extra hour makes soooooooo much difference.

MOTM - Glad your daughter had a lovely 15th birthday:D

So my day for today, Mr T shopping being delivered between 9-11, so put that away, make some more shortbread, shout a few questions at dh to help with his exam prep, phone uni,go clarks to get school shoes and end up at the fantastic rake hall pub for dinner time (well about 4-5pm):D oh and inbetween all that I suppose I should feed all the kids at various times;)

    Have a nice day:)

    Morning all,

Finally prodded OH awake at 2am to get him to put Rhys down so I could relax enough to sleep myself. They'd had five hours which is more than I got - after all their noisy messing about it was half three before I got to sleep and I was up at half six again :( Have been trying to persuade Rhys he needs a nap but he's adamant he doesn't

Whilst still awake this morning I've written myself a huge to do list so I guess that's what my day holds, plus the trip out to the consultant this afternoon.

Hope everyone has a good day xx

ETA: You'll be fine SS. Sod the to do list, just enjoy your first day on your own with Molly ;):D

I heard somewhere (I think it was one of the HV but not sure) that the whole needing iron at 6mths in general is balls because breast/formula milk has iron in it

Yup, in fact although there is less iron in breastmilk it's easier to absorb :-) And that's my bfing fact for today :-)

so I guess that'll make up for it so we won't need to do extra early weaning, but I'll ask :) Other question of course is "what on earth is "early" for a 9wk prem baby?!"

Let me know what they say I'll be interested to see how far off the mark I am! I think by early they mean before 17 weeks... And that's as far into the weaning debate as I'm going to go!

Although I will say spoons as are a good thing to give to play with while mummy and daddy are eating, Celia would still rather have my spoon than my yoghurt (in fact she nicked my spoon and ran off with it the other night!)
Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!

I'm cream crackered... last 3 or 4 nights now Alexandra has been getting up during the night... last night we tried dreamfeeding at just before midnight in the hope she wouldn't wake up hungry... HA!
She went till just after 4 instead of 2:30-3:00 that was all... I have no idea why she's suddenly stopped sleeping through till 6am but I don't like it! Mummy needs her sleep!
Oh well... Daddy has gone to drop off the Passat at the garage - the service light has come back on and we took it in last saturday - apparently it's the oil sensor that is saying something is wrong  and they questioned us about if we'd topped it up with oil? Because cheap oil could cause problems... Yeah right... We'd pay THAT much for a car only to top it up with cheap oil? Not like we don't know about cars and engines! I used to compete in offroad competitions with landrovers etc and hubby spent a lot of his youth with Colin and Alistair - was Alistairs co-driver for a while too. Neither of us would be stupid enough to put cheap oil in a brand new car!
So they have got it in for a couple of days to look into it - meaning we have to have a loan car... and this is where I get a little narky... I bought a VW Passat CC in large because it has a boot that can fit my buggy in it. I even tested the buggy in it before we bought it! So... what loan car do you think we'll get? We have the choice if a Polo or a Golf! !!!!!!!!! Oh they usually have a passat too (normal one - fair enough I have no problem with that!) but someone pranged it so it's a golf or polo... Because I'll be able to fit my buggy etc in one of them! Not bleeding likely! We suggested that maybe lending us a sales car would be an option? Hubby has been seriously looking at a new Tuareg (he's not going to be allowed one but that's a different matter altogether ;)) So bearing in mind we've already bought one new car from them and we're looking at another potential sale of £30k... you'd think lending us a tuareg to make us really fall in love with it would be a plan right? WRONG!

    So not amused!

And that still leaves the question of what is wrong with MY car... either the sensor is faulty. Unlikely but possible. Or there is something causing the oil to thicken up/loose clarity - which is seriously not good in any engine! Could be anything from headgasket, fault line in the block, anything really... all of them a serious problem! In a car that hasn't even done 20,000 miles it's very worrying :(

Aaaaaanyway... rant over :) just needed to vent that somewhere :D

So todays to do list involves doing more washing, hoovering, napping and walking the dog... if I can then also nipping on the allotment to finish weeding... I'll try to upload some pics of the plot later - mine just looks like barren wasteland compared to everyone elses lol It's depressing :(

Oh, I know what I meant to ask.. Does anyone have one of these (kick piano toy)? Would you recommend it? I'm trying to find something to keep Rhys (entertained) in his crib and he does like to have a good strong kick about, but usually at my tummy :(

I will have a word with the peadeatric nurse tomorrow if possible - she's on long shifts this week so it might not be easy (72 hours in total this week!) and see what she thinks...
Thanks for the links feely - I tend to find kellymums very "it's this way and if you do anything else you're a terrible parent shame on you!!!" so tend to avoid them. All they do is get my back up and more determined to do what I want and not what they recommend. :) I did read the info though and have to say I am not sure I agree with it all but certainly was interesting :)
Mrs Moc - thanks for that... I know everything says 4+ months and that's all that has stopped me so far... I'm talking about maybe a baby spoon of baby rice or baby porridge - it is really more about texture for me than weaning her onto solids :) Hmmm might wait until I've spoken to the nurse next door and see if she has any examples from work that might be relevant...
My boys are both weaned early, I was told by the HV not to wean Ryan even though he was showing all the signs of wanting more, even she said '' back in the day I woulkd of told you to start offering solids but now you are not allowed to until 17 weeks at the very least'' not that I listened to her though, Aston is fine and he was weaned early.

Ooh sounds exactly like my house, some nights I have to physically drag DH to bed! He currently wants me to try it out- when the !!!! would I have time for it? Plus it sounds reet boring!

Just to say, in a sort-of counter position, I met OH via online games  while she lived in California!
Then she came to visit friends in London and we met for the first time, cue long-term relationship for 2 years (with a lot of visits each way) while she finished studies there and then moved here permanently :)

Post-baby though, she no longer plays online games, and I barely do - a few hours one/two evenings a week is agreed and non-controversial :p with me as first person on call if there is any baby drama!
