Tara, green frothy nappies could be a phase, if she's happy enough, gaining weight and you've had your positioning checked then give her a week or two... The fact that you're getting some yellow nappies shows it's not a lost cause. If you're otherwise happy to continue breastfeeding then just keep it up, it would be better in the long run...

How are you feeling now Tia?

Mooki - I need to start cooking again. We have alot of convience foods, as OH has totall;y different tastes to me and needs a lot more calories. I used to cook everything from scratch, but after my breakdown I just couldn't. Took me 6 months to get back in the kitchen. I cook something home made once or twice a week, but use a lot of cottage pie type things, and fresh mash. I feel dreadful about it,

I dont want to talk about weaning (but like to hear everyones else talking about it), simply because I am pretty sure that Leila will have quite a few jars and not much home made stuff. The simple fact is that I cant cook (and I mean can't not won't) so hubby makes a stew once a week and we eat the same thing all week. Otherwise it's take aways or a pre-roasted chicken from waitrose. I am going to try to make a concerted effort to change our terrible eating habits and do some more reading up on weaning for my little girl's sake but in the meantime if she has to have a few jars then i'd rather that than junk food. So the more pointers you lot can give me the better.

D'ya know what, don't feel guilty about using jars of food.....ds1 had mainly all jars (he did have some hm but not much) because me and dh ate out ALL the time at restaurants...ds2 had a 50/50 mixture, I used to whizz up a load of our dinner (when it was something baby appropriate) and stick it in the fridge/freezer for him. with ds3 I have done mainly hm, but ALWAY have jars in the cupboard in case I haven't made or defrosted any hm stuff.....

If you do want to try and make Leila some hm weaning foods, try very simple foods first, like plain potato or just carrot....I can give you step by step instructions if you like. there is absolutely no shame in not being able to cook, all it means is you have never learnt/been taught....just the same I have no idea how to speak chinese or do open heart surgery, and a lot of adults can't read/swim/ride a bike etc etc.......All that matters is whether you WANT to learn that particular skill or not.

I am a firm believer that anyone can learn anything if they want it enough:D

Happy birthday Bruno and Tara :D Please can I share a piece of cake (I shouldn't really but it's your special daya nd it would be rude not to!)?

LO refused HM carrot and sweet potato for lunch :( However, on the plus side, She let me do half the ironing and some washing.

She's currently grunting on all fours on her play mat desperately trying to figure out how to crawl :rotfl:

Hoping to get out for some fresh air this afternoon. That always makes me feel brighter.

Krystal, I'm ok, just hot and sweaty (still have a fever) but not headachy or sick which is great. Huge red area still but it's getting softer and feeding is painfree.

But I do have a question. Is it normal that I don't get that swollen feeling before a feed now? It doesn't mean my supply is drying up or anything does it? And I'm no longer leaking milk. Is it just that everything is settling into a rhythm now?

How come the fruit man's stall on Me Too is never busy but the rest of the market always is? How does he make money when it's only his mates who buy stuff and it's always a pound please? And he never has what they want....

When weaning time comes around I will be back for some guidance from you and the others. You can count on it.

As for learning to cook, like Feely really, me and my OH have different tastes. He's originally from nigeria and he'll only eat certain types of food. For example he wont eat anything cold or green! He also like very creamy food and everything is covered in mayonnaise. But I suppose i'll have more of an incentive to learn to cook because it will be for both me and Leila now as there didnt seem much point in cooking for just me or just OH before. :o

Hubby is now in a foul mood - VW garage have saif there is nothing wrong with the car... it needs a service... so that's less than 10,000 miles... for a car that should go 30,000 according to what we were sold (which it turns out is actually wrong but that's another issue altogether...) or 20,000 according to the official paper work... Uhmmm I think not! Even VW UK say that it sounds wrong (well DUH!) especially as it mainly does motorway miles and it's DHs personal game at the moment to get maximum miles per gallon (it keeps him entertained on the motorway bless him), it isn't revved (would waste fuel!) etc etc... so should be closer to the 20,000 service interval than 10,000!
So hubby is finishing up his calls with work and then we're heading to Aylesbury to "discuss" the matter with the garage!
Issue 1 - the car should not need a service every 10,000 miles!
Issue 2 - it was sold as 30,000 miles (ok up to but apparently this is definitely incorrect anyway) service intervals (or 2 years - whichever comes first) - this was one of the major reasons for buying the car and was discussed in depth with the sales guy at the time. Both hubby and I are certain that 30,000 was quoted because the choice at the time was between a diesel and a petrol and we discussed with them that a petrol had a service interval of 20,000 and the diesel had 30k - a huge difference to us as we knew hubby would do a lot of miles in it. It's not something we'd get wrong - and certainly not both of us.
So the battle will commence... not really what hubby needs - he's got so much on at work at the moment - he just got a new project manager to replace one that wasn't really experienced enough and the guy's been on holiday for 3 weeks and now will be off for a long time as he's just had a heartattack! I mean poor guy, but means hubby is now having to cover that job as well as his own which is already more time consuming than it should be!

MrsT, my car now has the service light on constantly because the garage who did the service messed it up.
