we get anytime phone calls, XL TV and L broadband for £40, which I think is pretty good, really.
I'd really like to get a V+ box, but don't have the £100 to spend on installation right now.
Anyone managed to get a deal on that, as an existing customer?
There's been some deals recently for £30 and for free - was £75 for several months to everyone or than cheaper for higher deals. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

It would be difficult to get much a reduction as that is already a reduced rate product compared to what it would have cost previously ~ £100.
I don't like spending the £35 I do, £20 would suit me, however it was a good deal, so will put up with it for now. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Bex, you reckon someone has managed to get V+ for £30 or free? I'm up for that !!! How do I negotiate that deal, do I have to suggest I want to disconnect?I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0

Hi Christopher,
Did the £27 pounds include any deal on phone line (Like free talk unlimited or evening/wk end ) as I pay around 30 pounds roughly a month on top of the £40.50 (service charges) for the telephone calls.0 -

I have home phone & broadband with Virgin costing £29 month plus cost of calls - with a teenage daughter this is a minimum of £40 month plus been paying £10 month to Utility Warehouse to access cheapest phone rates but recently more calls going via Virgin than them, So paying £80 - £100 per month.
After reading related articles on site I rang Virgin & told them I could get line rental, broadband & free uk calls with Tiscali for £19.99 month and asked how competetitive they were - they came back with line rental, broadband & free anytime UK landline calls for £19.49 month with ebilling. I can't believe the saving, Thankyou moneysavingexpert. Recommend anyone to give it a go & challenge Virgin.:j0 -
Just thought I would make a record of my experience in haggling with Virgin.
Currently I am on :
Broadband M
Telephone M
£15.50 per month and I am still in a twelve month contract (about 4 months left)
My advice to any hagglers out there is keep trying. If one person doesnt give you a good deal then phone back up the next day and try it with someone else.
I phoned up as I wanted to add TV XL with a V+ box to my exsisting package (the following prices are with e-billing discount of £1.)
First person told me it would be £40.50 per month plus £75 for V+ box
Second person said £36 for the first 6 Months then 40.50 after that.
Third person said £32.50 for life and £99 for V+ box
And finally after quoting the current tiscali deal (£24.99) I managed
Broadband M
Telephone M
TV XL
V+ Box - £30
Total Monthly Cost £31.00.
I was also offered the following for £36
Broadband L
Telephone L
TV XL
V+ Box for £30
I tried pushing with all might for a better deal but settled in the end. Hope this info helps others who are looking to do a deal.0 -

I've been looking through some of the other posts to see, but i'm not sure.
As it stands I pay around £67 per month for Telephone plus evening & weekend calls, XL TV, Skysports, Medium B/B and I have V+ which costs me per month. I also have an extra box.
I called VM this morning to discuss having read some of the other threads. Im reasonably happy with what I have, if I can save money then great but ideally I wanted better b/b - I've been with VM for 12 months now and so thought I'd negotiate.
I wanted to know whether or not people felt what I get for what I pay is good?
By way of saving me money they proposed me paying £75 up front, but then not paying the £10 a month V+ fee ever again, all well and good but I dont save any money for 8 months that way. They also proposed removing my second box, again, not a great proposal. When I mentioned upping my b/b I was told it would cost me £7 a month more, which is cheaper that what everyone else would get! All well an good but my bill suggests that I pay £18 a month for b/b, I can see it a lot cheaper and faster elsewhere - but would it cost me more as I have a virgin landline and not BT?
