my friend joined virgin as a new customer she was told she'd get broadband full tv plus movies and phone line for £41.50 per month
they installed today and after they gone she discovered her phone line wasnt working and she doesnt have movies in her package
when she called them she was told they couldnt come to fix the phone ine till 28th and that for her to have the movies it would bump her up to £60+ per month
She not a happy bunny where does she stand on this??
How long has she got if she wants to cancel???
any advice in regards about what to do would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance
If she's in here 28 day cancellation period, she can phone up and cancel stating the 28 day cancellation period and why she wants to cancel. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Hi,
Have you been with them for a long time? or did you sign up recently as they tend to give a lot of deals for new customers?
How did you manage to haggle with them?0 -
I have lost the will to live with virgin at the moment, I called last week fully intending to move to sky to save money, virgin offered me 3 for 30 plus 3.45 evening/ weekend calls, I was happy with that as they said I would get 90+ tv channels , order went through but they never actually made it go 'live' so I called again and was assured the package would start, which it did.....or so I thought, had my online bill the other night and they are charging me for each service seperately and they havent put on the evening calls, so for a week I have been chatting to my sister / mum for an hour a time and being charged for it. So far my bill is at £52.55, rang AGAIN, listened to amy winehouse screeching AGAIN and again have been assured my package has been amended and credits have been applied. 48 hours later no credits are showing and no confirmation of the amendments has been sent, even though I have requested this 3x now by email or post. Have emailed a complaint now and am just waiting for reply....really wish i'd stuck to my guns and gone over to sky
btw the 'extra' channels turned out to be g.o.l.d +1, history +1 etc and the adult channels, not really what I expected!:A I WILL NOT USE MY SWITCH CARD:A0 -
Ing i was paying exactly the same as you for the same package .I rang 150 and followed the instructions on the phone to go thru to thinking of cancelling.Got thru to a very nice bloke called Adam.I told him I thinking of going to sky but would like to stay with Virgin if they could offer me a better package deal.Straight away i was offered exactly the same package for only 27 pounds a saving of 13 pounds fifty or if I wanted M broadband M phone but XL TV with free Setanta sports I could have that for just 31 pounds still saving nine pounds fifty so ive taken that option.I only wish I rung up ages ago ,in all honesty I feel a bit of a mug for paying top dollar for so long ,when a simple 2 minute phone call can save you a hell of a lot.0

you can get unlimited calls
10 mg broadband
and basic tv
for £35 a month if you are paying more you should give them a ring0 -
Can someone please tell me if i'm paying too much before i ring up and try to haggle.
The bills a bit confusing but in total we pay £87 a month with papered billing we have a V+ box and an extra box upstairs both on the xl package talk unlimited with line rental and 20mb of broadband.
let me know if it need breaking down into more specific prices.0 -
I currently get Basic TV, L broadband and anytime unlimited calls, £16 p/m.
Just phoned them (couple of months ago) and gave them the detailsof the offer I'd just had off sky, which included free broadband for £25. They beat it by £9.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

If you don't have Movies or Sports, then you can get the triple XL + extra box package for around £60, or VIP which is XL TV, BB and phone, with Sports & Movies, V+ box and 2nd box for £86.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... we do have the sports and movies, so does that mean i'm getting it the cheapest possible cause i don't really want to downgrade any of my products tbh?0 -
we get anytime phone calls, XL TV and L broadband for £40, which I think is pretty good, really.
I'd really like to get a V+ box, but don't have the £100 to spend on installation right now.
Anyone managed to get a deal on that, as an existing customer?I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0
