I have just signed up to Retention Bundle 3 which is Medium TV and BB with Talk Unlimited, Mobile and Weekend with a V+ box for £24.49. For another £8 I could have XL TV which is tempting.

This is after 2 weeks of speaking to different people! Worth it tho.

Just make sure that you get them to send you your package details on an email. Last year, around July I signed up to a special deal they had for £35 - 2 boxes, TV L, BB & phone. They sent me a welcome letter but didn't specify the details on there. When the bill actually came, it was for ~£40.00, and when I phoned they said it was VAT. I had specifically asked the guy who gave me the deal whether it included vat.

This year, I phoned and got another deal after threateing to leave for sky, and got another deal for £37 - which included 2 boxes (1 v+), BB, TVL & phone. I asked if it definitely included VAT and would this be in the letter they send for you to cancel within 7 days - they said yes. When the letter came, it contained NO details again, just a welcome. I phoned to cancel immediately unless they sent me an email.

So I get an email confirming it is £37 per month, but it doesn't mention VAT. I send a reply saying I want a statement that it includes VAT or I would cancel. I get this.

When my bill comes, it is for over £40 again. I phone through and they said that it was just an adjustment and that a refund had been issued to me. I've been really busy and haven't checked up on this, but I bet that I haven't had a refund.

    They are SHARKS!

Part of the Furniture 100 Posts Name Dropper Combo Breaker
    We currently get:

    TV XL with V+ box/service
    Phone XL - 24hr calls/line rental
Broadband M - does the job fine
    Sky Sports Collection + Setanta
    (no movies)

    All for £52.95/month.

Does anyone know of a better price for this package or is this rock-bottom? We rang up disconnections about 3 months ago and this was quoted as there cheapest, just wondered if things had changed?

I was quoted this exact package for £34.95. Phone 150, go to the leaving option and say another member of staff mentioned Retention Bundle 7, I'm sure this is what he called it.

  • I've been thinking for some time of trying to reduce my costs with VM. I've been perusing several providers of bundles and have almost decided to change to Sky.
My VM package at present is
    Telephone Line Rental £11.00
    Talk Evenings & Weekends £3.45
    Callremind £1.75
    Free Voicemail £0.00
    Starter TV Package £5.50
    Broadband Size: XL £37.00
    Total: £58.70,

and that's before I make any calls, which as you can imagine, with two teenagers in the house, happens a lot!!
I'd like to change my package to

    Telephone Line Rental £11.00
    Talk unlimited £7.95
    Callremind £1.75
    Free Voicemail £0.00
    Med TV Package £9.00
    Broadband Size:M £16.00
    Total £45.70

Does anyone think they will go for this, or any further advice to swing it?
    Thanks

I'm sure you will be able to do this.
I think you should be able to get this cheaper. Seeing as you want to downgrade your broadband i'm sure they would be able to throw in something like talk unlimited for free which is what you really need. Call 150 option 2 you're thinking of leaving us option and get put through to retentions. See what offers they can give you. If you're willing to pay £45 a month there are a lot, but dont say how much you're willing to spend! They have various retention packages so just listen to a couple of offers even if it means calling back a few times as some will claim not to have offers or can only offer you one that might not suit you. Also try and read previous post as this can give you an aim at the level of reduction to your bill you can expect.
    Hope this helps.
plus have the sky deals ready to quote if they ask because they will try and beat them.

I received a call from VM today confirming my cut off date and then going on to ask why i'm leaving and eventually offering:

TV: XL (without the Sky sports but with setanta)
    BB: L (10MB though)
    Phone: Talk unlimited.

    £35.95

I reckon that's about as low as they are going to go, however, I told them to let me shop around to try and beat it and asked them to call back in a weeks time.

Does this deal sound similar to anyone elses?

does this deal include line rental as i asked for this deal they wouldent give it to me

Hi not sure if this helps

    I pay £35.95 + £3.50 (for 4 services, call waiting/caller display/call back when free and Divert)

    Telephone Talk unlimited
    TV - Medium
Broadband XL for the price of BB L (20 Mb)

    Shows on bill as

    Rental 11.00
    Talk u/l 7.95
    Broadband £37.00

    Rebate £8.00
    Rebate £12.00

    = £35.95 + £3.50 as above = £39.45 total

I notice online though that they have 20Mb broadband for £29 pm for the first 12 months and then £36 pm thereafter

Going to call them now to try and save some money :-)

even if I only get the £1 a month then its £12 for a year in my pocket rather than theirs.....

i asked for this he wouldent give to me for £35 withoout the £3.50 he wouldent give it to me
