I've been a Virgin Media customer for quite a while and for the past few years have haggled to get a good deal. Previous offer has expired so just phoned them again and got large broadband (10mb), talk unlimited 24, line rental, 25% off calls to mobiles and discount on international calls. All in this is £26.49 per month (with £1 e-billing discount).
The number to phone for retentions has changed and is now 0800 052 0870. When I called it was answered by a real person immediately, no options, menus or key presses. He simply checked what deals were available then offered me this which is the same as I have had for the past 12 months, no quibbling.0 -
I currently pay £37 per month. For this I get:
XL TV
XL Phone
XL Internet
I think its a good deal and for new customers its £49 per month for 3 months then £56 thereafter.
What does everyone else think??:xmastree: :snow_laug Christmas Nutter :snow_laug:xmastree:0 -

I phoned virgin yesterday to see if they would offer me any deals and was told there were no offers available at the moment and they couldn't do anything for me!
I have:
Phone L - E/W calls
TV XL
BB M
Sports and movies
total cost - £68.95 should be £69.95 but get £1 off for e-billing.
Add around £2-£5 for extra calls and I've been paying just over £70 for well over a year!!
Needed to get bill down so ended up phoning back to cancel movies - kept sport coz of hubby - and even then they didn't offer me any deals.
Feel very let down and wonder if it's worth even tryin again?0 -

I think it is definitely worth trying again. Phone 0800 052 0870 and ask if there is a better deal they can offer as you have been looking at other broadband suppliers eg Sky, TalkTalk, BT, Tiscali, etc.
Good luck0 -
I have had a letter from Virgin Media saying that on checking their accounts they have not been charging me for my telephone. It does not say for how long or if they mean the line rental or usage.
Ther further state that as its their problem they do not intend to claw back the monies just ensure that i pay from my next bill.
HOWEVER i have checked my last 4 months bills on line and i have been paying for both line rental and usage. I am on XL+ and it clearly shows both usage and rental as individual items on the bill.
Cannot face trying to talk this through with them so will wait until next months bill and see how badly they can mess it up!Ta0 -
Got my bill the other day and noticed they had upped Setanta Sports from the £8 a month to £15. Phoned them up to see if they could do it any cheaper and they said no and just offered to cancel it instead
Also I am paying £18 a month for their slowest broadband. Seem like a lot but I have phoned them in the past and they said that is their cheapest deal for current customers. I must be doing something wrong0 -

Have you been going straight through to retentions (cancellations) and telling them you want to cancel and why; and not just calling up and going through to the usual customer services? Usually customers services only have a couple or so poor offers to offer, go through to cancellations and tell them to cancel and you should get the deals, as it is their job not to lose you. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

No - I spoke to customer services earlier and they upgraded me to L broadband for £1 cheaper. Not a brilliant saving but better than nothing and faster broadband (whether I'll notice the differance or not is debatable as I only use the net for browsing mainly)
Signed up to e-billing too.
I could try saying I want to cancle I suppose but I really want to stay with Virgin Media0
