Maybe because he wants to discuss when you can collect, your sat here complain about a seller being unreasonable and moaning he wont agree when to collect when you cant even be reasonable and give him a ring as hes asked you too many times from what you say above! just give him a ring, maybe he likes to actually speak to the person hes dealing with! Ive sold and bought a lot of collection items and only ever had the initial communication via email and the rest via phone!

You cant complain the sellers being unreasonable when you cant be bothered to ring them! or why not give them your number to ring you!!!

if your as desperate for the item as you sound and are making out then why are you so set against not ringing and arranging collection with the seller.

This post is quite bizarre and rather offensive.

EBay provide a complete messaging system with which any reasonable person can undertake all necessary communication.

It's not for the seller to dictate that the buyer communicates in any other way.

I don't understand some peoples level of hostility for the girl when it's that stalkerish bloke whose making things hard.

It's odd how strongly some people are siding with a seller who is behaving in what is at best a cavalier and at worst downright creepy manner.

BTW, what's the betting that he's one of those freaks who never answers his mobile but tells you to leave your number so that he can decide when the call takes place?
  • To those people who believe that the lady is at fault here could you please answer me this: Why should any buyer have to phone a seller purely because he tells her to? (Because let's be honest here, there's no other reason she needs to do it is there?)
Even more alarming to myself as a father of teenage girls: Why should she have to persuade another female to pretend to be her on the phone because that's how the seller gets his rocks off?
I won't make any enquiries about how people live with themselves being rude and aggressive to a lady who has had enough aggression to last a lifetime I would imagine, because my daughters inform me that this is not at all unusual on the the internet, but I think it is a pretty poor show.

People have rather overactive imaginations on here and are making judgements on a seller they don't really know anything about and via a buyer who has been releasing tidbits of information through the progress of the thread rather than just post 'I don't know how to deal with this, I don't want to spend money on a call, I'm (it now transpires) partially deaf, the seller would rather deal with this by phone'.

So what's your explanation for the seller refusing to name a time and place then? Your focus seems to be all on the OP.

someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I am pretty sure it is against ebay policies to have a void address and contact number on ebay.
What's that got to do with anything unless you're enjoying having a go at Jacks so much that you're looking for another reason to have a go at her.

The OP is all we have to go on and the story gets more complicated through the thread.

You seem incapable of grasping the fact that Ebay provide a messaging system in order that people can carry out transactions in a manner that is convenient for them entirely within Ebay.

You also seem to be incapable of grasping the fact that it is not for one party to arbitrarily insist that they switch to another method of communication against the will of their trading partner.

How the information has been released is irrrelevant.

The plain fact is that the seller is trying to bully the buyer into using a form of communication with which she is not comfortable and which would mean there is no record of any communication.

The seller's attitude is high handed and obnoxious and the fact that there are people siding with him it says a lot of rather unpleasant things about their own personalities.

Only because of the continued intervention by idiots who cannot understand that the seller has no right to arbitrarily dictate they switch communication methods to one with which the buyer is not happy.

That and that alone is the point of this thread.

Trying to bring in other irrelevanices to make this scumbag's behaviour seem reasonable is just fudging the issue.

Well that didn't really answer the question did it? I can only guess that you concur with my assessment that there is no nice normal reason why a person would do what he's been doing.

As for more details emerging throughout the thread. I didn't think that it would take very much empathy to understand why someone might opt for the "easy" explanation rather than lay all their embarrassing dirty laundry out on a message board, but the tiny amount of empathy required is evidently much more than some people possess.
