Glad you got it sorted but do take the time to read my second post again where it said I was trying to be helpful - certainly not getting my knickers in a twist.

Perhaps when you post for future advice you should put all points across ie it wasn't so much you didn't want to spend the money on the call which you first said but because you were partially deaf - that would have given many more positive answers to your thread (ie, simply mail him and advise him you are unable to call him as you are partially deaf and find it difficult to communicate via telephone) -

When the facts are stated - better answers are provided.

Ooh yes I think so. I have thanked everybody who was supportive - and I really don't fancy chatting with the others - so that's it for me.

Hmm I don't know Jacks. We have to decide what feedback to give this "Freakazoid" now don't we? (Excellent new bit of vocab there - cheers for that!) ;):D

I'd get your dad to leave the feedback for you. He sounds um "pithy". :rotfl:

And just think if you had replied to his email tuesday sayin your were slightly deaf so couldnt ring or you wold get a family member to ring or you emailed with a time and place you could have had your item four days ago!

Whats your user name so i can block you....
ive never come across someone who can make such a simple transaction seem like the hardest thing in life!

i cant beleive all of that was other 1 phone call and 1 ebay item ... crazy

as said in the 2nd paragraph knowing all the facts would have been helpful as you just appeared to be a tight ackwarded person who didnt want to ring the seller rather than the fact that you couldnt ring the seller! I agree you should have told the seller that you coldnt ring him for that reason.

I totally agree when the facts are stated and true better and more helpful answers are given!

Conversly, can we have your Ebay name so that we never have the misfortune to end up dealing with someone as censorious and unfeeling as yourself?
  • someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I am pretty sure it is against ebay policies to have a void address and contact number on ebay.

Don't take this the wrong way, but given your previous ebay stalker history, do you not think that bidding on a collection only item knowing that you don't want to go to their house anyway is not really the best item to be bidding on? Whenever I sell a collection item I email the buyer with my phone number asking them to ring me arrange collection - it takes seconds to do on the phone, and I can't be bothered with Can I collect tomorrow morning - no I'm not around then, how about in the evening?, ooh, can't do the evening, what about the next day etc etc - not everyone sits at their pc 24/7 - I check my emails at night so if someone wanted to collect something at 9am tomorrow morning,it's a little late at this time of night to be saying yes or no without mucking up their plans - I would rather they rang me when they won the auction and got it sorted.

I'm not sure how you intend completing this tranx when you won't go to their house??

Perhaps in future you should be looking at either ebayers that deliver or forget ebay altogether and just shop in the high street.

I don't think it can be considered friendly or helpful to act as if Jacks is the problem when she is most emphatically not.

Jacks post explaining about her stalker was post 14. The above which so many of us found hostile but you say was meant to be helpful was post 41.

It maybe my imagination, but I think some posters actually got meaner after Jacks mentioned the additional issues. there was certainly a lot of blaming Jacks for not obeying the seller's commands, wilful misunderstanding and argumentativeness.

It doesn't matter what her reasons where.

It is not for one party to arbitrarily and unilaterally order the other party to change their means of communication.

We didn't need any other information to know that a seller who tried that on more than once is at best a high handed and arrogant scumbag.

    I got that impression too.

There seem to be some very unpleasant people on this forum at the moment.
