Can I have a moan? Please feel fee to tell me I'm being an unreasonable cowbag...!

Ok, Bid and won a bit of furniture on eBay.

Messaged the same night (Sunday) to say we could come to pick the item up at absolutely any time that suits him and pay cash on delivery - unless he'd rather I paid through paypal immediately. Just pick a time and we'll be there.

The next night (Monday) the message back says cash on collection preferred can we come and collect when he get's back off holiday and gave a mobile number to ring.

Now being a moneysaver I didn't want to ring the mobile of somebody who may be abroad on holiday when I can''t even pick the item up until he returns so what's the point?

So I didn't. I messaged back to say we can still come at any time to suit you but don't want to ring you your mobile on Holiday in case you're abroad so we'll sort something out when you get home and get this message.

Last night (Thursday) I got another message saying can we come and collect it in just over two weeks when he get's back off his hols.

He hasn't even gone yet so why couldn't we pick it up already??? He must be home sometimes !!!!!!?????

Today Friday a new message asking me to ring him again.

Can anybody think of any clearer way to say Name A Time And We Will Be There!

I dont know why they listed something that needs to be picked up right when they are going on holiday anyway!

I would message them with your phone number & ask him to call when he gets back.

It is handy to have the seller's number, I have been caught out when I couldnt find the place & had no way of contacting them without a computer. I only ever call though if Im lost, I dont want to waste money when we can communicate by computer.

I think your doing the right thing, just keep it light hearted & try not let it wind you up too much! x

Nope, it has to be the same price as you are not to know where the person is situated with a mobile. It will end up costing him to answer the call.

it costs you the same to ring him if he's either stood beside you or if he is on the other side of the world - as op said he picks up the extra if he is abroad. tbh, unless you want to keep sending emails back and forth I would just ring him, it's only 7p a minute on BT now to call a mobile and its only going to take a couple of mins to arrange a time.

call and speak to him , may be he wants to arrange something quicker.

Spend a few pennies and communicate - then you'll know where you are.

You're making things difficult for yourself.

Just think it through...you asked him to name a date which suited him. He has done this and prefers you to collect when he gets back from holiday. It may not be convenient to collect before he goes away; the lead up to a holiday can be a busy time.
