  • Just read my last post and sorry if it comes across as negative. That wasn't my intention when I started typing! This is such a great positive thread and I didn't want to drag it down.
  • I live 2 mins from a Lidl and never knew the offer free stuff...inside the store or outside?

Inside - usually behind the checkouts!

Oh boy am I ever in the brown stuff just now so couldn't offer physical help, but feel I need to do something
I've had a trawl through the sites I sub to & come up with a few that may be of some help. Unfortunately I still haven't fathomed those fancy links so please bear with me :o Again apologies to those who think a lot of OS ways are there purely for entertainment value, but I promise to only post the threads I have found most helpful :p

First is the Grocery Challenge. There are a multitude of good recipes in the first few posts that don't cost a lot to do. This is for August & the Sept one will start up soon but they all have the links...

I've a few *cough* more in the same sort of vein, including getting sorted for the winter, gifts & more on packed lunches if you'd like them. I've been on here for a lifetime & still only scratched a feint trough in the knowledge available so please just ask if there's ANYTHING we can do to help. If I don't know the answer I'll help you look for it & that way I'll learn something new too :D
Hope you're able to post again very soon. x

I've just read all through this post and am so touched by the generosity of all the people on here. I, like many others on here, can identify with a lot of what BiW has said. I'm 40, single, a long way away from my family, only have a couple of friends nearby, in a low-paid job with few prospects (other than redundancy, the spectre of which seems to be looming larger by the day) and constantly short of money. It seems like as soon as I get paid the money goes on bills, for the last 2 months my food budget has been £10 a week or less and I feel like I am existing, not living. I know there are a lot of other things to life than money, but it sure as hell helps!

Why not post for SOA? Perhaps people can help. This place is so supportive. :)
