In the PDF for the 2010 cap deal there is also the text below about further savings

Gas & Electricity Offer annual discount* of up to £16.80 (inc. VAT)
    • Online Energy Service annual discount** of £5.25 (inc. VAT) for gas and £10.50 (inc. VAT) for electricity.

Are these automatic and what does UP TO mean as i get very suspicious when i see that and tend to thing rip off , you know the sales UP to 70% discount in shop windows, and when you going in there is one item with 70% off and the rest as a near normal price.
Generally what is the best point to have a standing charge vs non standing charge ???
    and can i switch ??

I managed to work out the standing charge/ no standing charge options last year ( can`t for the life of me remember how now) but the difference was so small that it`s not worth bothering over.

Ok I have gone for it and signed up for EDF with Topcashback (£60)

I was assured by Scottish power customer services that as long as the change over date is after 31st August I wont have to pay the £50 - EDF seem to think it wont be till the end of September.

I shall refer scottish power to this thread and the comments by there rep if they do try to charge me.

The difference is MASSIVE - my direct debit will go from £94 to £74.

With regards to standing charge/no standing charge, I was lead to believe there is nothing in it, unless you have the property unoccupied over a long period of time, it which case you would select the no standing charge.

Be careful switching through Topcashback if you are depending on the £60 cashback. Looking at the comments, lots of people are saying it hasn't tracked for them.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D

Do you need to opt out of the new capped SP deal as well as contacting EDF ?
