Keep at it Jodan, it can be frustrating when you want definate responses from your creditors when you first start out. Hang in there, big hugs :)

    Hi everyone,
I now know what everyone one means when they say they used to like the colour red. They're coming thick and fast through the letter box. Constant phone calls too. Barclays are getting quite nasty. Phoned me at work but i refused to take the call as I'm not allowed private calls at work. They left a message on home answering machine saying that as I have my mortgage with them and there is a reserve overdraft they will start taking monies owed out of it. Are they allowed to do this? Hubby is gonna flip if he's gonna have a debt in his name that he hasn't had anything to do with. Need advise please.

Not sure about this Jodan? Have you not removed your banking from Barclays? Hope you are sending them the "no communication by telephone" letters. Give me a shout if you need a link, but you'll find it on the template letters thread in DFW :)

You need your terms and conditions urgently.

    And then speak to CCCS.

Glad to hear you are moving in the right direction. Hope you can get the mortgage thing cleared up quickly - would definitely get on the phone to CCCS.

Am gonna tackle the bull by the horns and speak to Barclays to see what they have to say. If it gets too heavy I'll point out your advice and give them my cccs number and tell them to talk to them instead.
Just got home from work and hubby as announced he's taking me away for a few days to celebrate our wedding anniversary. He's had it planned since June.:D Am really happy, but obviously feel a bit crappy too as I haven't got him anything and don't feel I deserve this treat. I will have to make it up to him in 5 years time when I'm debt free.
Thanks all for your help and advice, I'm off tomoz night for my romantic break so will speak to you all soon. At least creditors can't get my abroad. X:j

Read your diary and wanted to say well done to you and good luck for the future. Enjoy your treat away. I think there are lots of presents you can give your hubby which won't cost you a penny and from what you have said, he will appreciate that much more than anything you have had to spend money on. For example, you could give him a massage or facial or arrange for a nice MSE friendly picnic and walk or something. You should start thinking about all the "free" things you can give to people which mean a lot more than expensive material things. Even Christmas and birthday prezzies, you can make stuff, e.g. a pot of jam and wrap it up nicely, and this will mean a lot to people. Good luck hun.

    Hi everyone,

Hope all have been well. Had a lovely break with hubby and came home feeling super positive. 1st payment next week to cccs. Most creditors been great but mbna, capital one and barclays playing hard ball. Keep adding charges and interest, at this rate the debt is gonna be sky high. Had a couple of weeks feeling bit bruised but as peeps keep saying on here, "I ain't got, they can't have". So am back fighting.
    :D
Only barclays have sent list of charges for past 6 years, others haven't sent anything. Times up on monday, 40 days will have passed. They cashed cheques though. Do I contact them again, or give them more time? Money would be handy to pay to cccs to get down the debts. Anyone any advise please drop me a line. X:D

Have you already got defaults on these debts? And how long ago did you open the accounts?

What do you mean by defaults? (Bit thick me!)
Up until joining the dmp i had kept all payments up to date but creditors are not willing to budge on interst and charges.
I applied for copies off mbna, capital 1 and barclaycard statements because I want to claim back charges from past 6 years.
