Yes and yes (if they charge)

Rule 1. Always read what it says on the screen

Passenger Details - All passenger names must match those in the passport/accepted travel document

    Ring ASAP

probably too early for the return leg. You may have to do it from wherever you are staying
  • I have just noticed that Ryanair are now automatically converting the € cost into Sterling at a reduced rate than that which we can get for Zero Charge overseas cards (Halifax Clarity for example), a change from what was occurring a couple of months ago. I was under the impression that you could choose whether to be charged in the card currency or currency of country from which you are travelling. Has anyone else come across this and is there a way round it? I tend to be travelling Spain-UK.

You can choose -- but the option is well hidden. Next to the price in sterling you should see the words "what's this?" Click on them and you'll see some guff about a guaranteed exchange rate. You need to untick the box at the bottom. Then you'll be charged in the local currency.
  • Sneaky so and so's. Thanks for that.
  • Hello!

maybe you have more experience in this..

I am booking some flights Stansted to Oslo for mid-may.
the price now is 62 return.. I know that sometimes prices drop closer to the date or there are sales and other kind of promotions.

Do you have any "certainty" about when would be best to book to get the best rate?

    thank you!

You can never be certain but there's a good chance that the most attractive fares will be offered about 6 weeks before departure.

Especially for Oslo - I regularly see fares for London to Oslo as low as £10, even in holiday periods.
  • Haven't booked with Ryanair for about 6 weeks, so I was very interested to see the Liverpool Street to Stansted option at 16 Euros return, rather than the £26 or more that it usually costs. I duly clicked and paid, a bit surprised to not be given any options of when / how to travel. Then got an email - Liverpool Street to Stansted is actually a coach, rather than the train - so this is already more expensive than other options. Secondly, it had booked with times out and back on the same day (!). I rang National Express immediately - very sympathetic but these tickets are non-refundable, non- changeable due to their arrangement with Ryanair.

Actually, I wasn't surprised - this is Ryanair after all - but thought it best to post this so that others are aware of the pitfalls. It may be that this is a cheap option for some travellers, but I won't be using it again
