PS I noticed some FAQs on the Ryanair site concerning Shopper Discounts and Rewards. I'm not sure if this comes up in the booking process anywhere but perhaps it's another hoop to jump through.0 -
thankyou for your comment, ok sorted, thanks again0

Hmmmm - their T & Cs state 21 days -
but the online checkin page states 15 -
Wonder which is correct?
BTW - at present in Gran Canaria they have two bag drops which alternate between flights to reduce congestion ie.
Bag drop A is for the first, third, fifth etc. flights of the day and bag drop B is for the second, fourth, sixth etc. flights of the day. This system seemed to be working well when I was there.
The only thing wrong with my experience was that none of the other passengers had separated their (A4 printed) boarding passes before going the gate so the airline rep was having to try to tear them (reasonably neatly) which was quite awkward for her - Everyone complains about RyanAir's shortcomings but noone bother to do small things themselves to speed things up!0 -
Knock airport is currently charging passengers 10 euros per person before they are allowed into the departure lounge. This is classed as a development fee and they ahve a notice up saying they have requested all airlines to inform passengers before booking their flights. I am positive I was not infomed and I travelled yesterday. I have just been on their site and RYANAIR are not infomring passengers!!
Is this not illegal??
They charge for the service (flight)
They charge to use the service (check in)
They charge to pay for the service (CC)
Now we are being charged to get to the service!!0 -
I recently had to book a number of flights and noticed that in some cases it was cheaper to book each segment separately - so instead of London to Gothenberg return buying two single journeys. Despite the conversion rate and any charges with my Halifax Visa Electron (£1.50 and approx 2%), it was still possible to save around £4...
Worth a look and beats giving Ryanair any more money on top of all the additional charges they pile on!0 -

Don't know why you got charged with Halifax Visa Electron. I specifically got this card to avoid these charges on airlines, parking etc. and have never paid anything extra. Looks like another card is necessary now though...
A couple of weeks ago we went BHX-Dublin for a grand total of 1p each way - paid with Electron, online check-in, no bags. Mind you, with Guinness at 5.50 Euros a pint we were pleased to have the extra spending money available!!

I think the charges would be for a purchase in a foreign currency for the return flight. The poster has gained due to the exchange rate used by RA and lost out to the charges, but ended up with a net gain0 -
Regarding the new ruling by Ryanair, will ANY Mastercard Cash Card get the zero charge for booking deal? There are several available. Travelex, maybe?0

Having researched this myself a bit, I believe the article on the site is possibly incorrect as regards the best prepaid mastercard.
I got one from Neteller dot com
There is no signup charge, if you transfer the money in via online banking rather than credit or debit cards then there is no fees to top up, and there are no fees to use it. (Obviously there is a loading fee for a different currency but this would be the same for any card except one of the few that dont charge) You need to go for the Net+ Prepaid mastercard, not the virtual one as it wouldn't work for me. Seems like a good enough product to me - I even got a nice phonecall from them welcoming me!
Also, I work for Ryanair as a pilot and although not directly involved with customers it does annoy me to read some of the stories on here not to mention seeing it on a day to day basis. All I can say is that with Ryanair you have to play by the rules on reading the small print, checkin on line, keep the bag to the right size/weight etc and dont expect much when things go wrong! It is sometimes amusing to see people who've paid £4.99 for their flight shout and complain when its too foggy to land somewhere as if we do it deliberatly! But any serious questions, please ask - I'll be happy to help!0 -
Tin hat time, Ballyboley.
Now that the anti Ryanair brigade have got a real life target to throw things at be prepared!
Great to see an actual Ryanair employee on here. I hope you can keep some of the more misguided on the straight and narrow.
Your advertising guys had me at 1p!!0
