If you don't have a Visa electron card, use entropay - com.
It's a virtual visa electron card, that has a 4.95% load fee from another credit / debit card, so if you're flight is £10 return, it only pushes it up to £10.50 rather than £20 if you pay the ryanair charge.
Used it many times and had no problems.0 -
We are going to Sweden for a long weekend on Sept, will be check-in on line before we leave, but my question is, can we also check -in on line for the return trip while still in the UK, or do we HAVE to do after the outbound trip?
Cheers Steve0 -
If the return is within 15 days, yes you can.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Really interesting thread and great to hear of everyon'e experiences..
My wife and I recently travelled to Marseille from Edinburgh and back. We did all the right things, booked on line, paid with Visa Electron, checked in on line, had suitcases which fitted the criteria 50x40x25, were within the required 10kg weight limit (including my wife's hanbag in her case), toiletries all under 100ml in prescribed see through sealable bags, arrived 2hrs 30 mins before flight departure time, avoided bag drop queue, went through security, sat and waited for flight to be called.

No problems!!
I know that this is not possible for everyone and I do sympathise with those who have special needs, children, added baggage etc but Ryanair really do appear to want to have everyone trained to their requirements and if not, you're going to have to pay for it. I was relieved to find that they allowed your own food on the flight. How long before this facility is withdrawn?
Both flights were on time, cabin staff were polite, the plane was new, and the flights cost less than the cost of the airport bus to the centre of Marseille!!
Their regime does take a bit of getting used to and luckily it appears that we have cracked it. If you are a first time Ryanair flyer or have any requirements other than 'none' it can be quite intimidating.
It appears they want to run it like a bus service, turn up, have your ticket ready, get on, sit down in an empty seat, get off and 'good day and thank you very much sir'.
I do sympathise with Peter Baker but thought I'd just share my experience.
We have another three return flights booked with Ryanair before the turn of the year and the total cost of all three doesn't come to £100 bottom line.
Good luck, fellow travellers!0 -

1. Assistance with lift on - lift off (or other needs) can be booked online. Most other airlines requires you call their call center.
2. If you book assistance Ryanair assigns seats in the 2nd row for you. If you book with Spanair or SAS you get seats assigned at check in when most seats already are taken. We have ended up with seats at row 28 after boarding in the front...
3. Hold luggage, just get a light large sports bag. See to that it weighs less than 15 kg and you are fine...0 -
The tip in, I think, the main text is correct.
It took me ages to discover tnat, when they show the selection of countries which you scroll down, the no insurance option is not found. You have to scroll up to find this option. Very sneaky.

Last week I booked a flight to Bremen with Ryanair for £5 per person each way.
Now I am travelling with my wife and 3 month old baby. So the cost was £5ew for me and wife and £20 for infant, with no seat, and no baggage allowance, so I specified him as a child under 16, which he is, and paid £5ew for him
Now will Ryanair pick up on this and if so what will be the repercussions.
I have a nightmare saying that he will have to rebook at additional £20 ew, but then so would i cos ryanair will not allow an infant to travel alone, no doubt the charge to book another seaton the day for that will be astronomical and of course my carefully printed out boarding cards will be void as a new booking was made and i will be charged an arm and a leg for airport check in and printing boarding cards.....all to try save 30 quid.0 -
Don't know if this is the right place for this question but I booked flights e/w for me and my children from Edinburgh to Limoges in October but have now found out that I don't have holidays. and can't go. Ryanair website says I'll get the taxes back if I cancel, these were the prices ;
PAYMENT DETAILS
*********5.94 GBP Total Fare
*******152.73 GBP Taxes, Fees & Charges
********30.00 GBP Passenger Fee: Web Check in
********30.00 GBP Passenger Fee: Handling Fee
*******218.67 GBP Total Paid
Does this mean that I'll get £152.73 taxes back (minus administration fee of £16), since the fares themselves were very cheap? I'm devastated to have to cancel and my children will be most unhappy but I'll be a bit happier if I can get something back..........anybody know what happens in this situation?
thanks0
