Get a pack of sandwich bags from Tesco as they are around the right size.

The 55 40 20 (cm) backpacks are now back in stock on Amazon. I have been trying to obtain one for weeks and finally bought one.
I haven't been on a flight with it yet but it is bigger than I thought it would be, Seems good quality.
As well as Amazon , also for sale here http://backpackingshop.co.uk/Backpacks/

Cabin Max Backpack down to £16.95 delivered at amazon now http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cabin-Backpack-Flight-Approved-massive/dp/B002Q5APX4
  • Ryanair's cabin bag dimensions are lower than some other airlines, which indicates that there aren't industry standard sizes in force (why not?) What's to stop Ryanair (or any other airline) from reducing the dimensions still further so that they can charge for putting the newly oversized bags in the hold? I can forsee a time when the only cabin luggage allowed will be your (empty) wallet or purse.
  • I think Ryanair's objective is to stop paying the baggage handling company at the airport - a charge they cannot control.
So they end up with over full luggage racks on the plane. So they cut the hand baggage allowance............ (It is just naked capitalism)
  • How do you explain this?I took my Ryanair sized suitcase through hand luggage at Luton last week No problem.Returning through Lanzarote, everyone had to put their hand luggage to be weighed at the boarding gate. They had set up a table with a machine for credit card payments.Guess what, my case would no wayfit in the machine.Everyone was complaining of the same thing .I had to pay 35 euros. When we got back to Luton we went to the baggage checker and lo and behold, the case went in and out with no problem.I was told that the staff at Lanzarote were Spanish and contracted by Ryanair.I told them that their checker seemed very narrow. This seems to confirm that it was.I felt that I had been mugged.

  • We are going cycling in Mallorca where helmets are compulsory, flying from Manchester with hand luggage only.

Is there any reason why we would not be able to wear the helmets onto the plane as they will not fit in our hand luggage?

Tell them you have a phobia of the plane crashing and find the helmet reassuring
