Flylite now has a new foldaway cabin bag with wheels that meets the requirements of Ryanair, Easyjet and many more and weighs less than 1.4 kgs. Details on the Flylite website (.uk.com)
OK thanks...£30, shame it wasn't available when I bought the others. Next time I'll need one will be May, so I'll see how I go nearer the time.0 -
Hi haven't read all the replies but am confused over what the posts are about r.e shampoo etc..why would these go in your hand luggage and not your suitcase? i am planning on putting all this kind of stuff in my suitcase.
Thanks for any replies x0 -
Start at the beginning I think?

(Given a few more shoe and "Y" front bombers and we will all have to walk naked onto the plane, if we don't die of boredom in the Q while waiting? - When is our government going to have the guts to introduce "profiling" of people to search as they wait to get clearance through the scanners? )0 -
I'm due to fly ryanair soon, and also feel their excess charges are getting more and more ridiculous. I plan to take one free carry on item of luggage that fits the required measurements, and have also paid them another £80 ( £40 each way) to take a musical instrument that fits into the overhead.
i am assuming I am allowed to take the one piece of luggage and also the musical instrument into the cabin as they both fit into the overhead.
I am worried that when I get to the boarding gate they will harrase me for having two items of carry-on, though I have paid them for the musical instrument in accordance witrh their fees.
Anyone out there have any experience with this at all? THANKS0 -
I have paid for an extra seat for my guitar in the past - £2 return plus £10 transaction fees. I am planning to book another flight soon and seats are about £28 return even if they don't go on sale - I hope my FairFX card will minimise the txn fees this time. I definitely would not let the guitar go in the hold to be smashed to smithereens.0

Because these people travel light and only take their hand luggage to save money. They don't take a suitcase. If you have a suitcase you can put all your liquids there if you don't need any on board.0 -

Put "profiling" into Google news and there is now a lively debate.
I can remember the days when a friend of mine got a hard time regularly for the sin of driving a car with Ulster number plates - It is difficult to get it right.

Signing off (and getting back on topic).

Is there any of the users of the SUB-0 G 19inch bag who could give me the gross external dimensions, in other words the bag including the wheels/stops and handle. From this forum I have gathered that the gross external dimensions are important. So if some one could help me out I would be most grateful. I finally found the bag in T.J. Hughes Romford, I measured the gross external dimensions very carefully, unfortunately the height is 1 cm out, and the depth is over 20 cm. A pity as it looked like a good option.0

Excellent thread! I have somethinbg of a love hate relationship with ryanair - love the fares, hate the hassle - and regard it as something of an intellectual challenge to get round the additional fares they impose. I have two bags that fit into the sizing boxes, but will now get something with lots of pockets to help out as well. And if I ever get caught out - will definitely wear the excess rather than pay it!0

I've been looking for luggage to take on a Ryanair flight - at first I bought this one from Argos

...but it proved to be 1cm too tall as the given measurements don't include the handle! Took it back and bought this one instead

...which actually worked out cheaper as it was in the sale. Comes with a flight bag too which might come in handy on a different occasion!Sealed Pot Challenge Number 1225
