They offered me nothing, so I cancelled and went to a different network. So o2 will no longer take a loss to keep you as a customer, however they WILL always offer you a new upgrade, including a free phone, at prices from as low as £15 a month on a 24 month contract.. If your personal choice of handset is high end.. then be prepared to pay towards it
Remember - any existing o2 customer after a qualifying minimum period WILL ALWAYS BE OFFERED a FREE UPGRADE.
well if o2 does not offer the deals there are others in the market who offer that is why people do jump boats. that is what a healthy competition is all about.
you defo work for o2 dont you? I can understand being a market leader loosing customers like this prompts you to get back with defending words. But your defence is as thin as a sheet of paper!!!! for any business
No deals No customers!!!
Iphone may be ruling hte roost for the past 2.5 years. remember when iphone cameout no company in the market had a touchscreen phone. now everyone else does. It wont be long before the hypes of iphones fades out and by the time o2 realizes that it will be too late.0 -

balls....
I had a touch screen phone PRIOR to the iPhone coming out - rebranded by o2 called the XDA (which are remakes of the HTC phones)
the trouble is - the iPhone is actualy a very good phone if you ignore all the background polotics which is going on.... Windows mobile phones have just about had it as MS never kept ontop of development for use outside the business sector... Nokia's just went downhill very quickly and are constantly trying to play catchup..... and everything else is just a gimick or lacking in features that people actualy want...
the iPhone has a very good OS - the developers are designing the operating system that can be run on all the iPhones rather than just one model which helps keep the older units alive... the apps that are built for them will run on all their phones - thus they have so many app's for them....
like the iPod....the iPhone isnt going to go away any time soom as they are just far too good, and like all Apple products - you do have to pay through the nose for them, but as they say - you get what you pay for!0 -
I went for a o2 sim only deal.I can't afford an iPhone and am definitely not paying more than £30/month. All they offered my was an iPhone or something from the ancient crappy XDA range. I've decided to go for 30 days rolling simplicity £20/month. If they offer me a free iPhone 3GS for less than £35/month (very unlikely! lol!) then I will stay otherwise I will wait around to see what else is available elsewhere around October time.0

I have been with them 4.5 years now on the 750 mins, 750 texts for £35 deal. My contract is just up, I was waiting for the new samsung i7500 phone to come out expecting them to offer it me free on my current deal with perhaps the web bolt on for free. Looking at the retentions thread on here from a few month back it didn't seem impossible at all.
I will wait till the phone comes out but if they won't give me the phone for free on my contract I will also be leaving o2. I've been with a few of the networks over the years and never really had a problem with any of them so its just who will cut me the best deal.0 -
is this the same for O2 CPW retentions?0

They offered me nothing, so I cancelled and went to a different network.I've just come off the phone to them. Currently I am on a £35 a month tariff with 600 mins, 1000 texts and unlimited web.
They would offer me £5 off a tariff of £35 a month but thats it and their choice of phones isn't great.
I asked about the Iphone and got told they wont change that tariff or do anything on it. When I explained I would go onto the £35 a month Iphone tariff if they increased the amount of texts to 1000 so that I am getting exactly what I am at the moment they weren't even interested.
I've gone on 30 day sim only and simultaneously asked for my pac code to be sent to me.
I didnt expect miracles or something for nothing I just wanted what I already get for the same price.
O2 are a joke. As soon as I find a better deal I'm gone.0 -

I think its a waiting game, once iphone 3gs fade has gone, then they will see they have lost to many customers. Im looking at vodafone at the moment. My contract is not up till November, so maybe they will get there bums in gear.Kind Regards

I'm in the same boat as you Bill. Waiting with baited breath for O2 to get their act together before my contract is up at the end of November.0
